How does you game fit the theme?
It's a mystery detective story with supernatural elements. :>
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yup.
Dennis Dressler did game design, programming, story and music/sfx.

A very successful mechanic for the jam theme. I had a great time playing it, good job!
A solid experience all around. More story elements would be nice as well as finding additional items and/or clues / puzzles besides keys.
Really well made and interesting , I just kinda wish there was more story elements Like not sure what I found at the end to win the game? what mystery did i solve? still fun trying to find the keys and avoid the ghosts ^^ I streamed it live here StreamerWho - Twitch feel free to watch the vod it started around 2 hours and 15 minutes in ~~~
Ohh, thanks for playing and even streaming the game! It was interesting to see the thought process of someone playing the game for the first time. :>
That's the thing I am most bummed about, because I HAVE written additional story elements, like interacting with a book shelf or painting on the wall to read more about the environment you're currently in - but there just wasn't enough time in the end to implement all that. I did throw together the whole ending screen like 20 minutes before the deadline LOL.
Edit: Just watched the rating portion of the stream. Loved the insight on that. And I agree with everything you've said. Still appreciate that you rated it highly!
So cool! The typewriter effect and sound that plays when dialogue appears really adds to the experience! I also really like how your mechanic was tied to the music box! Having the music stop whenever you weren't using it really added to the atmosphere! I've noticed some other comments that talked about some of the bugs already, so I won't repeat them XD I do have to ask though, is the player supposed to be able to move during the "thank you for playing" screen? Awesome work with the game!
Thanks for the feedback and the compliments! It's always easy to think "I could've done more", instead of being proud of what you have accomplished. I am still bummed out about some things I couldn't fix/implement due to time and some miscommunication in the team haha.
If you're interested in the typewriter sound effect, it's a pack I recorded myself some time ago - it's on opengameart and free to use!
This was awesome!! The premise was super interesting, the art was all phenomenal, the writing was amazing, the music and sounds were astonishing, it was just- all so cool!!!! Congratulations on this fantastic game!!!
I just need to point out that I wasn't very sure what pressing "R" did, oops. Also, may I suggest to add like a "skip" button on the dialog, as in, if the player clicks the mouse it would skip to show the entire dialog instead of making the player wait for it all to slowly show up. Of course, that is for the future!
Anyways, you guys were the first one I gave 5 stars to all the ratings, congratulations!!!
Oh boy, thanks so much! That means a ton. Especially when I've felt the whole time that I 'could've done so much more with a little bit more time'.
And yeah, somehow the cranking mechanic for the music box is busted in the build lol (works in the editor just fine). But you can actually skip the dialogue text with right click! (It's shown in the intro at the bottom left)
Ah man, I totally missed that, sorry!! > -<;;;
But I feel you, when making my own game I kept thinking how I could make it better if I had a little bit more of time for it! xD But we can still do more things after the jam is over! I would love to see an update of your game if you guys plan to work more on it!
Very cool game, mine is actually a very different take on a similar mechanic. My heart sped up with the ghost noise every time. I absolutely loved the theming and the writing, and the music was excellent. Great work!
Edit: 1 minute before the deadline, y'all are maniacs
I really like the concept of the game! Switching between states while also having a cute little melody to go along with it. Opens up a lot of possible scenarios with it.
Though I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I could pass through the areas / paths that are looked blocked in the original state and cleared in the music box state without being in the latter state.
Overall though I like it.
Rated !!! would you kindly rate mine too!?, I'd really appreciate it if you do, Thanks!

Really cool game! I especially liked revealing the ghosts with the music box and how it changed the atmosphere. I found what I think is a bug when going through dialogue like going next to locked doors if you press space it completely gets rid of the text box but carries on the typing sound effect.
But apart from that a very well put together and enjoyable experience :)
Great game! Nice atmosphere and tone. The eerie feeling was amazingly done.
Loved the vibes of this game! This game could be a serious contender for winning the jam!
The story and mechanics are great. It didn't seem like the music box drained power though, I never had to crank it, which, honestly I preferred. If cranking was gonna be a feature I'd say have the box only show a small area and when cranked it increases the radius temporarily something like that. Make it something the player wants to do rather than has to. Art and music were nice too.
