In what way does your game fit the theme?
You obtain cards throughout the game that give your weapon various effects, which become more and more chaotic the longer you hold onto them.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All code except for the player movement controller, which is under fair use. And all assets are from scratch (except for the explosion sound effect, for obvious reasons).

Nice shooter. Had fun popping skeletons.

I'm a big fan of roguelike shooters, so really enjoyed this one. I love the reload animation! The game is already fun but I think some small additions would help it a lot. I would like it if the game paused/slowed down when you look at cards and some better indication as to why I'm killing myself with every shot :p

Wow guys you've made an awesome game! I like those skeletons they're not so harmless at all! Reloading animation is a nice find. And cards mechanics is very interesting, this game can be very very fun with multiplayer and with lots of different cards. I include this game to my personal TOP 5 games on this jam!

Feels like a very COD zombies-esque game. I like the visuals and the gun animations are smooth. The one thing that did kind of annoy me is how spongy the enemies felt, even when I shot them in the head it took like a whole clip to kill them

I gave you guys good rates because I know if the aiming issue was fixed it would be great. My camera kept randomly flipping and felt really slippery for some reason. I loved the animations, the feel of the shooting, and the rest of the game though.

Great job, very well done.

If you have another person and a controller available to plugin please check out my game!

Dang team, this is a really cool project. Well done!

I'm a sucker for anything with cards, and this was no exception. It was a little hectic to have to read cards while evading enemies, but I suppose that's on theme, for better or for worse. The cards were well designed and readable with a few exceptions where there was too much text. I think the most frustrating part of the game was enemies spawning behind you. Have some sort of audio queue or indicator of when a guy was about to spawn to spawn behind you would be super useful and would help the player stay on their toes instead of taking hits that felt undeserved.

I really liked the animations, especially that reload animation. That was really cool. And the music is a bop.

Great job team, y'all made a great game for this jam. Keep up the good work!

Interesting retro shooter with some interesting mechanics. Felt like I was getting swarmed too much, due to enemies spawning close to me instead farther away. I also found the mouse too sensitive, a pause menu with a slider would have been nice. But still, interesting mix of ideas and styles.

Cool animations Great music and fun gameplay. I really liked the perk system with the cards. Maybe more enemy variants mostly ran in a circle juking the skeletons. Overall well done really enjoyed playing this!

This was really cool. Graphics are nice, movement is fluid, shooting is accurate, animation and music are on point. What I really love is the mechanic of the chaotic cards. However, it is really hard to showcase that unique aspect of the game when you are constantly running, shooting, or reloading. Yes it is chaotic, but I wish I had more time to experience what the cards can do.

Developer

Thank you so much. Also, I totally agree. I really like the idea of the chaos cards but I think their execution was poor. I hope I get the time to go back after the jam and really rework and rebalance that system so it's easier to know what the cards do, how the cards fail, etc, etc.

Da feload is just sick but u probably heard that like 100 times of smth  like that ;) The health pack and the coin defenetly need models, audio 5/5, although the game doesnt fit the theme to well. but overalls a good game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. Agreed with the coins and health packs needing models. We tried to make models but it was like 3 am on Sunday and we just couldn't do it. Maybe in a future patch?????

as a viewmodel animator i found the reload was really cool to see xD

Developer

Thank you! I am not the animator, but the animator has been flexing on us in the pm because everyone loves the animation. Can't even argue either, it's just really good.

Thank you to everyone who is rating and giving feedback on the game. It's really awesome to see all the responses! Also sorry if I am slow to respond to your comments, I am in my last year of university and working a job. I really do appreciate everything and hope you guys enjoy the game. Hopefully, we can update it to implement some of your feedback!

This is a lot of fun. I think it's missing a lot of polish but the idea of mixing a deck builder with an FPS is fantastic. Also that reload animation is really good too

Developer

Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it. Totally agree that it's missing a ton of polish. I am hoping to continue updating the game because I like the concept so much. So hopefully we can continue to polish the game and develop the concept.

Absolutely adore that reload animation, so smooth, so satisfying.

It would be nice if the skeletons weren't so spongy, kinda makes the early game difficulty curve a little brutal. A visual indicator of player health would also go a long way.

My only other critique is that it would be nice to have the game pause when selecting upgrades, so the player has more time to read and internalize the info so they can make an informed decision.

All told tho, great jam game, keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. I am glad you enjoyed the reload animation. I agree, the skeletons ended up being a lot too spongy. They were a little too weak and we took it all the way to the other extreme. Also, there is a health bar at the top of the screen. For your critique, I sort of agree but I have a different approach I think. I want to make deck-building elements outside of each match, which would be an interesting mechanic and progression system, but also you would probably know the cards in your deck already. Thank you so much!

Fun game - wish it would pause when i pick up a coin so i can figure out what to equip i keep dying if i think for too long lol

Developer

Thank you, and I agree. I realized when I was playing it after release that I wanted to pause at one point. And then realized that there was no pause button. Guess we just missed it in the rush of everything, but hopefully is something we can learn for future jams and maybe patch into this game.
