In what way does your game fit the theme?
The player's attacks have self-harming effects, requiring both strategy and quick-thinking when confronting enemies in order to prevent hurting themselves. Over time, the levels become more filled with enemies, and at some point the player will just need to run-n-gun through all the chaos.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Most of the code and assets were made by me. The only assets not created by me are 3 particle effects.

COOL!!
THANKS!!
This was really cool! I am a sucker for the paper mario like sprite flipping!
thank you! the paper mario aesthetic is peakkkk
wonderful game, love the way its 2.5D but there could be some fixes but overall a cool game!
thank you! theres a lot to fix haha, but im glad you still enjoyed it :)
Graphics are amazing, The possible synergies with the spells are really cool. Only thing thats missing is audio other than that this game is incredible, Good job!!
thank you! i agree that the weakest point is the lack of audio, i will try my best next time to make sure i can add some in for my next jam!
good game and cool 2.5d
play my game
thanks!
Absolutely love the art! Simple yet effective, it makes your game stand out.
The mechanic is intriguing, with a greater variety of enemy this game has potential!
It is a pity that there is no music or sound effects, I suggest for the next time you find some time to add them - they really help make the game alive! You can easily find free music online.
thank you! i blame myself for the lack of audio since i was somewhat bold to assume i would have had time to add it myself. the lesson i learned from this is that i should probably plan out my schedule better and/or get some teammates for that front!
Liked the 2.5D art style! In terms of the theme, I didn’t feel too much chaos going on, but for a first game jam game with Unity this is pretty solid.
thank you for the feedback! i completely agree that the game doesnt establish the chaos theme well, and that is something i wished i had time to implement better
Love the aesthetic! One time the exit spawned just a few blocks away from me but otherwise the random generation was great and the visuals that showed it were pretty impressive. Making different combinations was also pretty fun.
thanks! the combinations was definitely my favorite part of design!
i like the idea and the visuals are super well executed! there was obviously a lot of care put into level and enemy generation. after figuring out how the enemies deal damage i was able to start experimenting with combinations of colors. i think the best part of the game to me was just seeing how the different effects worked with one another.
i will say that after dying a couple of times and ascending two floors i started to take damage for no apparent reason. possibly an enemy was invisible or a weird calculation was being done on a hitbox, but several of my runs just ended spontaneously because i slowly lost health while walking around. i’m sure this wasn’t intended and i otherwise really enjoyed playing!
thank you! a lot of my players are reporting taking damage for no reason and i believe that is an unintended bug with the fire element not properly destroying itself, leaving behind an invisible hitbox. im glad you found the game still enjoyable despite that!
Absolutely loved this game!
I’m very impressed how much you managed to get done, especially as your first time using Unity in a game jam!
I think the game design and execution was brilliant! The way you combined the different elements to create an unbelievable number of interactions was so much fun! I can only imagine how much work it was to both design, balance, and implement those features! The little detail that the big guitar picks(?) can break tiles is subtle but brilliant as well! Overall, I feel this game captures the idea of “chaos” perfectly.
If there is one small area for improvement, it might be nice to have a little spawn protection. …but perhaps that adds to the chaos instead?
Amazing submission!
thank you! i should clarify that ive been using unity for about half a year now, im only just now applying it in a time-restricted manner :)
thank you for the feedback about spawn protection, i actually did try to implement it but it isnt working as intended. the enemies shouldn't be spawning within a certain radius from the spawn!
From what I saw, this was a really neat game, especially as a first time in Unity for a game jam. I really liked the visuals of the environment and how that shifted between floors, though it seemed like the performance was a little slower for it.
I also quite liked the design for the weapon, it was a creative way to vary gameplay in the spirit of chaos. I do love some customization in weapons, and while the player doesn't have full control, it was a very strong concept!
Great work!
Thanks! i should clarify that ive been using unity for about half a year now, so im not too unfamiliar with unity! just my first time applying it in a time-restricted jam :)
the slowness is definitely a problem, probably because i didnt optimize it as much as i could in the time i had!
I like the game. Character is so cute and map is cool.
thank you!
Cool game!
It would have been better if it had sound
thanks! ya i wish i had a team memeber that could have done sound!
Looks like we both came up with a similar concept for the gameplay, with changing how your weapon works throughout the game.
Very cool game, it was a little difficult but I really liked the gameplay and the visual style!
Thank you! you know what they say, great minds think alike :)
Ill definitely try out your game soon!
