Overall pretty good. Idea and it's implementation is super cool, i love tactical rpg and strategy. Graphics is solid, but i think whole mechanic could be a little better, for example diagonal attack, and attacking without touching your unit to pass.
Btw check out our game, i hope you will like it :p

In what way does your game fit the theme?
Grid based combat with a timer on turns to force a 'speed chess' feeling to fit with the theme.
Play as Goblins raiding a human village. Smash things to gain Mischief karma, kill living things to gain evil Karma. Use karma to level stats between raids.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes. Coding and Art done by me. Music provided by a friend.

The game is a little bit confusing, and there are some minor gameplay issues, but aside from this I really liked the concept and playing the game was fun! I'd probably request for a little bit more time to think for making moves, since the timer kind of prioritizes rash thinking over strategy. Regardless, it's a really nifty game you have here :D
Great game! Its turned based but the turn is so short you have to quick think the entire way. Had a lot of fun, though one of my goblins just wasnt atacking anymore and ended up dying :(
Also some AIs took ages to decide their actions, but besides this little bugs, 10/10
The game was kinda easy though xD
This can be pretty fun although you really don't give the player enough time to figure out what they want to do. Also I was completely lost a the beginning because I didn't realize your movement option was on a time limit. Otherwise, pretty good
Very fun and addictive game. Found myself failing a lot first few runs but once I got the hang of it it became a very nice strategy game. Can you check out my game too, it would mean a lot!
I do love me some turn-based combat. I didn't quite like that you had to move before attacking though, and some times when I tried to attack (when the tiles beneath the enemies were red) the click didn't register and I wasn't able to attack. Other than that though, it was really fun. I like the art style, and the karma system was a nice feature. Well done! :)
this game is quite interesting. it was confusing at first but the raid was a nice concept and i really liked it! One thing i think the game needs is a title screen, but apart from that this game is really good imo! :)
The game has potential. While I just got thrown into the fray in the beginning, it was obvious what I should do in the first 'upgrade screen'. The raid had some issues, though. First, the time limit for player movement really doesn't let the player pick and choose a really good move to play. Usually turn based games let the player take as long as they like because it's really essential to think. The "retreat" bar made sense, but here's the thing: 1. The npcs took up retreat time. 2. The npcs would sometimes get stuck mid-walk, losing the player time. The final big bug I found was that you can't attack an npc that's standing next to you. You have to walk to another square and then you can attack them. The game looks quite worked on, so nice work.
Thank you for your comment. I agree on the time limit thing, but I added it for 2 reasons, the theme is chaos so I didnt want to allow the player too much time to think, as I wanted to force a 'speed chess' kind of gameplay. The other reason is you can cheese the retreat timer by just taking no action. if there is no time limit on turns..
Yes there a few bugs. I was working on the underlying grid system and AI for the first 4-5 days, at some point I had to say 'good enough' and actually work on the gameplay and art. I did want a title screen, ranged attacks, tutorial, etc. but I simply ran out of time hehe.
Thank you for playing.
The game was pretty fun and enjoyable. The timer was a little annoying and I didn't know which goblin I was going to control next. It would be nice if there was a title screen and sfx, but given the scope of this game I assume there wasn't enough time to do that. Great game overall
It's rough on the edges, but it's a working turn-based tactics. Impressive for a jam.
Decent take on the theme, btw.
