In what way does your game fit the theme?
Multiple avatars that you control at once constantly spawn in, and so do spikes. They spawn faster and faster, and it becomes chaotic.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes and almost yes - i did not make the fonts. everything other than that i made myself!! :D

Great job for a first game. I can definitely see this being a good distracting mobile game on the train to work. My recommendation is to dial it down a bit on the chaos though. It gets a little too much too quick and it makes it almost impossible to keep track of more than one slime at a time.

Awesome job for your first game!  Fun to play and definitely fits the theme, great job!

I would liked the warning arrows to be of some different color it was difficult to pick them up.

Was a cool game!! Kudos!!

Really fun game! Absolutely nailed the theme

Very good one! Simple yet fun, and it gets hectic very quick xD

That’s a very good entry for your first gamejam! The mechanics are quite simple but keep going :D

First I thought: "Well, this seems very basic and boring." Then I saw that this was your first game! Compared to the steaming piles of garbage I created when I was starting out, and even now, then this game becomes absolutely amazing!

It does miss some music and propper sfx but apart from that anything is there.

I also really enjoy the fact that every slime can die, but as long as one's on screen you survive. This feels like teleporting around the map, controling different slimes trying to create a slime army!

What makes this game impressive is that it is your first one. And you can feel extra proud of yourself for creating an actually playable game as your first, rather than a red screen that says pen!s in blue letters. Yes with the exclamation mark

Amazing first game! I had a lot of fun with this! Better than a lot of the games that I have played in this jam!

A very interesting concept with an interesting extra mechanic hidden in the game, I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but it was certainly interesting.  Being able to move the slimes by pushing against the walls let me try and make a giant slime blob.  It definitely got VERY difficult right around when the first... "chaos star" showed up?  Yea that was about where I died, a lot.

But overall, very interesting, and a nice little arcade style game.

Developer

thanks for playing! once you pick up the chaos star, the run is pretty much over and your score is doubled. i got a really high score by not picking it up for a few more seconds. yes, the walls were meant to put a little bit more strategy into the game. ty! :)

Great first jam game !! I really liked the idea

This was actually a really solid first jam entry! It was quite fun and it got really hectic really quickly. I definitely liked having the choice of clumping the slimes together and risking losing them all or having them spread out and having a higher chance of losing them!

I wasn't able to beat the game so I'm not sure if there was an end but I think that when the meteor was coming down, there should've been a little bit of screenshake and maybe some shurikens stopped coming for a brief moment. I think having an effect to make it a little clearer that a slime spawns in would be nice too!

Developer

thank you!! i couldn't figure out how to add screen shake, but thanks for the feedback!! :)

I can't believe it's your first game jam (though it was my first game jam too, but i wasn't able make my game on time :( ). The game matches the theme and the game is also  great. 10/10 fromme

Developer

thanks :)

Nice game! The boulder really surprised me for a second there. Very chaotic yet also pretty addictive as well. Good job, especially on your first jam!

Developer

thanks so much!

Hey Lavatrex! Nice job on this game. Very impressive for your first jam! If you've accomplished this much in the first month of your game dev journey, I look forward to whatever you might jam (or make outside a jam) in the future!

I really like the core concept here - dodge but you're multiple things. Trying to make the most of a bad situation to keep the most slimes alive is a great choice to have to make in a split second. While I appreciated the warning arrows, they often felt more like noise than helpful information. Maybe this was because they moved very similarly to the other projectiles and had a similar, pointy silhouette? Maybe just stationary arrows at the sides of the screen would have worked better. I actually found the sideways blades to be the most frustrating since I often found them spawning on top of me while I hugged a wall.

Very chaotic, keep up the good work :)

Developer(+1)

thank you!! for some reason yeah, i felt like the sideways blades had some ai or something that i didn't code in haha
