How does the game fit the theme?
In this short game, you play as a teenager who is coming home from school, you had extra classes,s and you are feeling tired. You know you shouldn't take the shortcut through the bum alley, but you risk it for the biscuit.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I took the buildings asset from this site:
https://drxwat.itch.io/city-parallax
For the code I was following some tutorials on youtube: <a rel='nofollow noopener' referrerpolicy='origin' href='https://www.youtube.com/@rapidvectors'>https://www.youtube.com/@rapidvectors</a>

ah glad to be the 20th rater, also solo dev? honestly that alone makes the game way more impressive, great feat for a great game
Good job on your first game, its not too bad and the visuals are good even with pixel inconsistencies (the background is higher res than everything else, and font is blurry). The gameplay is okay but slightly wonky movement, unpredictable AI and collisions as well as camera placement hold it back a lot. The camera should be down a lot lower so that you see where you land after jumping, and even better if its height was snapped. Also the background ambient track isnt looping, and the jumpscares get slightly annoying especially when they are placed so often
Hahahah! Very neat game! Really accurate way home for most! :D
Liked your job with the look and sound! Eager to see that you will do next!
Good job for your first game! As others have said it would be nice to have a bit more heads up when someone was going to pop out
Simple little platformer. Could've benefitted from a fixed camera height, but otherwise well done!
Initially was very confusing and frustrating, then I understood is all about memory and pacing.
I believe you can transform this into a rythym game, so it would be easier to associate with the jumps and timing. Nice entry!
Good for your first game! I think I would recommend giving the player a little more heads up when guys are gonna pop out from behind things, but aside from that good work!
This is very competent for your first ever game! Smart use of external assets for the buildings, and I liked the atmospheric sound too. The platforming was more difficult than I expected, but I enjoyed it regardless :)
Good game for your first! Quite difficult with the sudden enemies popping out, I wish there was more time to react since dying just sends you back to the beginning, otherwise, a pretty good first project.
pretty cool game, especially for your first one. really enjoyed jumping on top of the bad guys :D 9/10
It is a good game. I completely failed to remember the spots where the bums coming out of nowhere. I tried I few times, but I gave up. Good job, Well done!
I liked it, specially for a first game! It's pretty atmospheric, which is really important to build, nice job!
Thank you guys!
For a first game-ever it's quite nice! I've played for more than 10 minutes and really enjoyed it, I love the fact that some enemies are hiding behind trash can and I think the small bugs make it even funnier!
The game feels a little odd at first but after few retries and jumpscares it becomes funny and enjoyable enough for completion. I believe it has potential if enough work is put into it. Good work.
I liked it! Good work. I love the lighting and vibe of the graphics. Even though they are a bit stretched. I also like the idea of repetitive deaths and making progress. I eventually remembered every jumpscare spot and it was really fun.
With some more polish and gameplay this could be a really cool full game.
Thank you! Your game can become even better! Such good visuals and such a fun game! I really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed playing this! At first I was a little unsure about what to do, simple yet engaging. The art and sound work well together. For me personally, the difficulty felt a bit on the hard side, but overall it was fun and rewarding to try. Great job!
Thank you man, well I didn't know what to make of it so I made it a little hard because it is a short game ahahha.
