How does the game fit the theme?
The character must cross a bridge that could collapse at any moment and takes a risk in the sense that the cookies baking on the other side are well worth it.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All external assets I used are listed on the game's page and also within the game itself as a way to credit their authors, who generously made them available for free and allowed for use in any project. Regarding the code, I had some drafts of path creation since the idea already existed in my mind, but I didn't have a game yet. As soon as the jam theme was announced, I created the terrain, set up its progression, designed the entire UI, worked on the character's movement and animation, recorded all the sounds (except the music), created the pixel art, etc.

How many people worked on the game?

Hello! Although 71 is an odd number according to the level's rules, you can only step on adjacent blocks. That's why the game isn't allowing you to jump onto it from the block you're currently on. To do so, you'd have to go to the nearest block, since starting blocks are free, and then onto that.

Very cool idea. I love puzzles and figuring out the secret rules was fun. I got lucky with the starting with a constant and ending with a vowel one. I only got the power of 2  one cuz 512- 1024 -2048-4096 are texture sizes XD

Man the arrow one is giving me trouble. Every time i get far and think I figured it out, I fall right before the end. I tried if there is nothing pointing at the location. If there is an odd number pointing at location. If I have to move opposite of arrow direction. If I have to move in arrow direction.  If the arrows around location create a square.  Man I think I gotta throw in the towel I am over thinking it and coming up with a lot of out of the box rules that aren't working. lol. O well

Its a fun game.

When I thought about the game concept, I imagined a way to make the rules slightly ambiguous, so that players would think in a certain way but still have to try a little, even if they fail. That's why I thought it would fit the jam's theme. I'm glad you shared your experiences and feelings during the game. Thank you so much for the comment. =)

Amazing puzzle game, I love the gameplay of thinking through what the pattern could be! It's very impressive you you designed the algorithm that generates each puzzle. The music, sfx and art is great too!

Thanks a lot for your comment and for playing the game.

as a big fan of puzzle game such as the professor Layton series (and also logic in general), i think the game it's pretty great. I love that you have to think through certain sequences and through pattern recognition you can reach the end of the level! Also it's pretty fitting with the theme of the jam so you gotta take some risks before you can reach the end of the level

Thanks for the comment and for trying the game. I'm working on a few updates to post over the next weeks, including new levels. Hope you like them as well. =)

The game is very creative, I really like how you've implemented the theme! XD

// I couldn't figure out the secret tho, it gets a bit frustrated with no hint ><

Overall, it's a very cool game! > v<

There's already a hint system ready to be implemented after the jam. =) Thank you so much for testing the game and for the comment. I just tested Operation Crumble and it's fantastic!

Getting localisation in for a jam is amazing. Gameplay is fun, each of the secrets took me a little bit to get but are super satisfying when you start flying across the level once you figure it out. Well done!

Developer

Regarding localization, as Portuguese is my primary language, it was easy to make it available in these three languages by starting from the beginning with localized labels. =) Thank you very much for the comment and for playing.

What a great game! Im not too bright to finish it, but it certanly made me think a ton, i had to get lucky on level 5, i suck with letters, level 7 should be in that spot tbh. My favorite one was level 6, i loved finding the rules on that one. Congrats on making such an awesome game!!

It's really cool to read feedback about specific levels because it helps me plan the next ones. Thank you so much for trying the game and for the comment.

Good game! Took me a moment to fully get into it after reading the rules, but once I did it clicked. One small suggestion: it might help if the main objective was shown more boldly in the middle of the screen (instead of tucked off to the side). That’s a nitpick though. Another idea could be to add a hint system, or even a demo/auto-play mode just for the first level or two, to show new players how it works in action.

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! Regarding the hint system, it's already planned and will be implemented after the jam. Many people requested it too. =) Thank you so much for the comment and for trying the game.

Very cool game that feels very polished. Some of it can be confusing when it doesn't give you a hint and you are left in your own head making up 100 assumptions to what it could be but that's just my opinion. Liked the atmosphere and the music a lot and very unique game that i have yet to see anything like in this jam so far!

Thank you so much for the comment. I'm glad you liked it.

About the tips, you're absolutely right. As it stands, it's too loose in the levels with secret rules. I'm already working on a hint system for after the jam.

I wish I could test Climbin' For Crumbs, but due to hardware limitations, I'm currently unable to test .exe games at the moment... I'm sorry for that =(
