How does your game fit the theme?
In this 2D platformer, each level contains a door guarded by 1-bit ghosts. You will need to find the key to the door in order to find out what lies beyond.
SPOILER- its probably the next level.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code myself, but used asset packs for most of the sprites and sound.

Very fun and simple game. The only bad thing I can say is that the artstyle reminds me of a scam game I found on steam
Oh no, well I guess that’s one of the downsides of using a free asset pack for your art! Though I thought the sprites were charming haha.
Really good choice on the visuals and music, I saw you used premade assets, but execution is really well made!
I loved the "negative" effect when using the flashlight, even though I was surprised at first to discover that it was on a per-level basis.
Controls feels kinda awkward with W to jump, I would've preferred a more conventional spacebar or a way to rebind the controls.
But that's just me nitpicking, congrats on the game!
Thanks for the feedback! Allowing for custom controls would be nice and would increase the accessibility.
didn't expected to discover a platformer which has such interesting mechanics! I love that you only used 2 colors, as well the pixel art style, the sounds were pretty nice too and the enemies are looking so cute, my squid enemy is also cute hahahah, gg :)
Thanks so much for playing, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
What a great game, using only 2 colors!
I was a bit surprise by the style you use for the light (ie: not pixel like the rest of the game). But it's very personal. Also, the game is very progressive. That's nice to discover the game.
I loved the music that match perfectly the mood of the game. Congrats for your game 👏
Thanks for your feedback! :)
Very nice platformer, controls are solid, only one time i accidentally slid of the platform right into a ghost.
Flashlight effect is very nice, i already liked it in the main menu.
After i picked up the flashlight the first time and changed the level i thought the game bugged and i lost my flashlight. But having to pick it up in every level makes the game more dynamic and allows to have two stages each time.
First Stage: Oh no a ghost
Second Stage: Come here! ill catch you!
Can't gumba stomp the ghosts tho
Thanks so much for playing! Thank you for letting me know about the platform slipping, I will implement a solution to that ASAP. I was torn between having the flashlight be a permanent equip or something to collect in each level, but I decided that collecting it in each level gave me a bit more options for level design. It also gives the player the option of using the flashlight or not, if you would want some added difficulty.
I like the idea of being able to goomba stomp the ghosts!
The flashlight is really cool! Putting jump on 'W' is kinda unconventional, but you get used to it very quickly.
The last level was a tough one. If you plan continuing development, I think shorter levels (<30sec.) are the way to go.
Great work!
Thanks for playing and thank you for the feedback! I agree, the shorter levels do work a bit better.
