Hi, would it be ok if I show your game in a recap video for this jam?

Developer(+1)

No problem, I really loved your game! It will probably be on youtube in a couple of days, I'll drop a link here as soon as it's out!

nice graphic because of unreal engine the problem was the lagggg cuz my pc doesnt have very high graphic card , i mean i liked the atmosphere and surely you gain 5 stars graphic, you fit the theme that everyone has done of course i like the mecanics but i think the game could be more fun for me if i can run it easly but unfortualy it wasnt cool game and i won't leave ou you 20 rates

Developer

I understand, sorry the game didn’t run smoothly on your machine. We tried to make different graphic qualities so most of the people could play it but still there’s a limit :(

Thank you for playing though!

An intriguing diving adventure game. Looks Amazing

You fit the theme really well, and the graphics are amazing!

If I was shown this with no context, I would think this is a 20$ game demo instead of a game jam game! Everything is insanely polished, I can't believe you made all the assets from scratch. It's a visually stunning game. I had some frustration with the resource system and almost soft-locked the game because I had died a couple times getting resources back to the boat, and there were barely enough resources for me to get the grappling hook. It would have been nice to get a couple extra seconds of time when the oxygen ran out. Besides the skill issue, all the other mechanics were satisfying (especially the grappling hook). The team did great work on this one, surely you're pushing for a commercial release right?

Developer

Thank you so much for the compliments & the feedback!

We aren’t thinking on making this one a commercial release but we wouldn’t reject a suitcase full of money to make it happen haha

Really nicely done! There's a lot to love here :)

Wow, this one is incredible, I am blown away how it has been made in just 7 days! The atmosphere is perfect, the graphics are mindblowing (I expected nothing less from a game made in UnrealEngine!), and the experience is very well crafted!

Tho I have some critiques, like the fact that oxygen times and resources are very tight. In my first playthrough I've gone straight for the torch, having only the first oxigen tank upgrade, and I essentially softlocked myself, as I couldn't go any further to search for more resources due to the limited oxigen, nor I could search on the surface where I already took all of them.

In my second playthrough I've gone straight for the max oxigen upgrade, and even with that, upgrading to the torch was very hard. I would've liked a mechanic like Subnautica, where if you end up losing all your oxigen, you still have 3-5 seconds to get outside of water to take breath. I've died many times when I was just a few meters away from the surface, and it got extremely frustrating pretty quick.

Beyond this, this game is just perfect! The mechanics are straightforward and well implemented, also a thing that I liked a lot was a fully functional options menu!

By the way, in the ending, I'm almost sure both characters die just because there wasn't realistically enough oxygen to dive so deep and then return back lol

thank you so much for the solid feedback! really nice. It was quite hard to get an idea of the balance of the game in just 7 days but this definitely helps to get a better idea for the future

Nice underwater atmosphere and fun grappling mechanic. Unfortunately there weren't more upgrades, the final oxygen was a little bit low. I didn't see a limit on how many things you could carry, so it might be good to have objects be automatically picked up by swimming near them rather than by clicking.

I'm not sure I understood the ending story beats exactly, is it meant to be some kind of eldritch body horror?

Developer

Thank you for playing & for the feedback! and yes, the story goes in that direction

Cool graphics

Developer

Hey! sorry to see an error message, but what does that image mean? Without any further context I can only guess. That dialogue offers you an option to install the components your computer is missing, so it should be as easy as allowing that.

You can also try to update your graphics card drivers if the problem persists.

You’ll probably be having this issue with all unreal games, so fixing it for one will fix them for the other error you may be having.

This message/error occurs when I try to run your game

Really enjoyable experience! Great use of grapple mechanics (our game uses a grapple too haha) and theme. By the time I got all the upgrades and found Alice I had forgot I was looking for her and thought it was a random dead diver! Was relieved to find out it was Alice. The dynamic fish swimming system was really well done.

My only critiques are very minor things: It would be nice to have a larger/more open environment with resources scattered around a bit more and O2 depleting slower. I really liked the swimming and wanted to take in the scenery but felt too rushed to enjoy it. Other than that, maybe having the resource gather button mapped to a keyboard button instead of left mouse, because once I got the grapple I found myself wanting to gather things after grappling and getting a little mixed up.

Graphics are perfect! Good job!

Amazing graphics and a really interesting way of telling the story. The grappling hook is really fun to use and the diving physics felt really nice, the sound design also provides a nice immersion, and I have to point out to the super complete options menu, incredible haha.

I would've loved to get more oxygen upgrades to explore the map a little more, but it was a nice experience anyways.
