How does your game fit the theme?
You have to drill to the core of the earth, by playing as a mole, trying to jump from a high place to get enough speed to go deeper.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes. All the art and the code was made from scratch for this project.

I feel like the way you interpreted the theme is definitely very original. It's a really neat idea to have four-directional movement as well as combat. I probably could not have pulled that off! Maybe adding a less harsh respawn system might have helped, but considering the time you were given and the complexity of your game, I can see why this could have been difficult. Gret job over all! I really did have fun playing and loved the design of the game.
Kinda neat! It stinks a little to restart from the beginning when you die.
Solid game, I liked the combination of using WASD and arrow keys for movement and attacking respectively, though a nitpick I have is that using Space for jump would've felt a lot more natural. I also didn't understand why I kept dying in 1 hit, cause I noticed 3 heart icons whenever starting, so I assumed I had 3 HP, which doesn't seem to be the case. Based on the description, I can see how it relates to the theme, though it feels like a majority of the time is spent climbing the tower, so it doesn't feel like it fits while playing the game.
Overall though, this was pretty enjoyable, I liked the combat the most. Great job!
I like the visuals, they're charming and effective at communicating information to the player. The camera is a bit janky especially when jumping up a level and the drill looks a little larger than the vertical hitbox seems to be, but the movement overall feels snappy and fun to control! Also, the concept of trying to get higher up to dig down is an imaginative interpretation of the theme. (And the mole knight is cute. Peak character design.)

EDIT: I've now actually played the game and I like it. I think the controls feel a little too sensitive for me but its a fun idea.
Quite a cool concept, and pretty fun to play! Biggest complains would be that the camera makes it hard to see where I'm going sometimes, and that the drill attack isn't as responsive as I'd like (takes a few frames to attack).
I'd love to see this game worked on more, I definitely enjoyed it!
Hey Donian, thank you for playing! Yeah the camera is kind of funky, because of the window size from itch ( and because I don't really know how to work with pixel perfect haha). And the drill attack is slow because WebGL is very bad :(
I'll definitely try to make somewhat of a full version, with some more polish.
