Is it better to team or go solo as i am new to game jams.

You should try each if you didn't already : it's two very different experience that are interrresting in their own way.

Each have pros and cons. I like to work solo so i can throw all the ideas i have into my project without any pushback from a teammate but it's also really fun to work on a team with either randoms or your friends. Sometimes the pushback helps the project and you also end up having more experience with working in a team environment. Plus, more people working on your project means you can potentially get stuff done faster.

I you have both the art and programming skills yeah go for it. Its better for quicker people and more fun to go solo. Team will probably acheive a better and more polished game but if you have an idea you want in the game and you reccomend it to the team it will either be: Ignored or it will be made not according to how you wanted it to. But yeah to me its just better to go solo.
