Great work! Grapple hooks make every game amazing and you implemented this one wonderfully. I love the fast paced game play, action and decision making and the clever use of mode. Awesome job!
Thank you!! And thanks for playing!
Zipping around with the grappling hook and using it to Doom-style execute people and change color is absolutely great. Its a fun, quick game and very addictive. Would love to see this expanded on post jam with new guns and maybe even multiplayer, this game has some serious potential. Great job!
Glad you liked it! Initially our team may have made a multiplayer game but it wasn't the right idea for the jam.
Gotta be honest, I just spent my play time zipping around with the grappling hook. There's some good momentum and swinging going on that I got more than my fun just screwing around with that.
I feel ya there, we did that a lot before we actually added in enemies! :D
Cool stuff! Great core mechanic, guess great minds think alike ;) The grapple was a lot of fun! It was a little difficult at times to tell when an enemy was stunned, but getting a switch off when traveling at a high velocity was very fun. I think red is a bit overtuned compared to the other colors, but overall I had a lot of fun zipping around trying to rack up big combos. Great work!
We tried to make stunning fairly clear but some more work has to be done to perfect it for sure.
Red is definitely best weapon! The other ones could use some fine-tuning to make them as satisfying.
The controls were really smooth. I also enjoyed the rock paper scissors mechanic. Great job all in all.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
The grapple mechanic reminds me of glory kills from DOOM!
That's pretty spot-on for what we were going for. Glad it feels that way! :D
Thanks for playing our game!
Nice! I thought it might've :) No problem
This is a really fun and smooth game, it's a blast. I am also team red, I think that one was the most fun but none of the colors are bad to play as. I was impressed with how non-janky the controls are for how freedom the player has with their movement choices, I never had a glitch or hiccup of any kind.
One thing I would like to experience would be a (I guess you'd call it) Royale Mode where there's no respawning, so that I could systematically take out all enemies and maybe culminate against a super-powered final enemy who powers up when he's the last one left.
The experience of playing this game reminded me a lot of playing Tribes Ascend, which I think is a great credit to this game.

Fellow Josh! o7
I really like that Royale Mode idea! There's definitely a lot of ways to expand upon this game with different game modes.
Thanks for playing!
Splatoon but bad ass
Woomy but doomy
I really like how the grappling hook feels and that the double jump also functions like a dash, super fun to just move, jump, and sling around. Red gun is definitely the most fun to shoot in my opinion. I think having more penalty to falling would be good since you are able to easily recover using the grappling hook.
We were pretty happy with the grappling hook/double jump combo as well, but yeah it's a bit overpowered. :) Thanks for the feedback!
Super solid game! would make for a great vs shooter. Big fan of the RPS mechanic but it didn't feel too impactful (shooting an enemy with the colour that beats mine didn't feel like it took that much longer to kill) though the gun play felt nice and the different guns per colour mode was a great addition. Last but not least the grappling hook, very well tuned and felt extremely fun to swing around with! Love the work, Great stuff!
Thanks for playing!! By the way, we added in a hard mode accessible after starting a game from the main menu, which should make the type matchups much more impactful. In a way, it could be considered the best way to play the game, but we found it too punishing for first time players and included it alongside a "normal" mode for the best experience. :)
Nice game! I think the game plays well, I just wish it had a win state. I'm not sure exactly but it seems like there is anti-aliasing applied after the pixel shader. I think the game would look better if the blur was removed.
thanks for the feedback! you're absolutely right, having a win state would've gone quite a long ways. this was our first jam as a team so we've got a bit of learning to go through :)
I think there's some degree of anti-aliasing applied after the pixel shader, and definitely way too much blur. we didn't adjust the default unreal graphics options at all and that's just what it ended up with.
this game was super fun and chaotic! i loved how it felt to play, it felt incredible to grapple around the map like i was spider-man. i loved the visual style, too - really made it feel like an old school arena shooter! eventually the dots scattered across the level did get to be a little overwhelming, though. maybe they could fade out over time, instead of sticking around forever? i also wasn’t sure what actually caused enemies to be stunned, it seemed completely random. it could be good to have a more reliable method of stunning, maybe a dedicated stun attack could work? i had such a blast playing, great job getting this submitted! :)
Thanks for playing! I see your point about stunning, maybe how it works wasn't transparent enough. FYI it should be a 50% chance to stun after depleting an enemy's health, otherwise they explode. :D
Hello fellow UE user!! I loved this little game, it has nice movement and the grappling hook was a lot of fun to swing around with. Reminds me of the mods in CS1.6. I see you used the chaos destruction on the enemies when they die to make their chunks fall apart? I was thinking of adding that to my game too but ran out of time before I could throw it in.
Hey UE buddy, thanks for the feedback! Yeah, we added in chaos destruction for a little visual flair late into the project. Purely cosmetic, but it can add so much adrenaline to the gameplay. I would be interested in seeing it in a bullet hell game but finishing a framework like that is definitely an accomplishment on its own!
I was trying to figure out the grappling hook for my game and I couldn't get it done for this gamejam, but seeing how well it works in your game made me jealous. This game was really fun. Probably the most fun since I love fps games. I loved the idea to grapple onto a stunned enemy and change into them. I think that idea was unique. The only thing I would change in the game would be the massive amount of colors on screen. It was hurting the eyes a little. Other than that, awesome game!
Thanks for the feedback! Grappling was one of the main mechanics we were focusing on at the beginning of the jam and it went through a bit of fine-tuning. I can definitely see your problem with the colors, perhaps we went a bit too heavy on the emissive lighting. :)
Love the low poly pixel render look. Also crazy how much more fun you can make a game with a good grappling hook! Didn't end up switching modes too often, my favorite mode was red.
I think we all agree RED is the best MODE. :D
grappling hook
grapol gud many color
