This is my second game jam and I think I bit off a bit more than I could chew lol

How are everyone's projects coming along?

(+1)

I'd say very well if it weren't because we started a bit late and there are only 6 days left.

(+1)

That's too bad! Here's hoping you can make the most of them :)

(+1)

Thanks! i'm doing the same for you. :)

A little behind schedule and very scared of sound design lol.

Me too actually, never done anything with sound before. I don't even know what software to use         ( ̄ー ̄;)

If you want something simple without much of a learning curve or time consumption, use BFXR, if you  want to make non-pixely sound effects, you have a mic, and you are up for the challenge, I would recommend Audacity.

Thanks for the advice. I'll take a crack at audacity unless I really run up against the clock here.

First one? Good luck!

way down the line.

the idea sounded good in my brain but failed in execution.(dont know if it can be completed)

All the best for your games.

Ikr, because it's what happened to me. But don't lose hope, you can still make it!

Because it's not really about completing your game, but the process in making that game.

Submitted

yeah. i am just cutting some slack now to make it easy

I hope I can finish my project on time, bcs I didn't work on it for a day..

Right there with you on this. Gonna have to put a lot of work in after work these next few days (^▽^;)

I think that I'm doing good just having a hard time working on the sound its hard to make music and sound effects because I don't really have the proper equipment or software. But over all I think I'm doing good

Pretty good considering we are a team of 3 people wit different knowledge and we all have a full time job...

Some sacrifices will be made along the finish line, like the quality of SFX or the lack of music.

doing well. I finished most of the gameplay and code, now I just have to wait for my friend to finish art, add music and sound effects, add animations, and if I have time, some polish like screen shake and particles. The start was pretty slow, for I didn't have a good idea in my head, but once I got one, it was smooth sailing.  I joined 8 jams, but I was only able to finish 1, in which basically got gameplay down and nothing else. So hopefully, this would be my second finished game, and my first semi-good game.

Lol, i just found this game jam today and started making the game, wish me luck, tomorrow is the deadline. :D

I wish everyone luck!  If you get the submission in, regardless of what percent complete it's a great deal more than most people.  Even if you don't get it in, hopefully you learned something new along the way.

And to the question:  I just submitted mine!  I'm a 1 man team with a job and did all the art, music, sound effects, programming, animation, and effects from scratch and quite happy with how it turned out.  Several snags and a lot of new programming/music things learned, so I already win in that regard.  My goal this year was to enter my first jam and I did.

Yes, congratulations, the best thing about jams is the learning experience.

I've also struggled with jams in the past, so I'm just happy to have a passable version of my game just to show those doubt-demons who's boss. I'll definitely continue working on this game in the future, and continue building up that discipline for finishing up some of my older games.

I DID IT! I've never done a game jam before, and I decided to try learning Unity during the jam (lol), but I finished!

build problems so far.... 15 more minutes to finish it.. damn its scary

Submitted(+1)

Good luck!! I hope you find the error.

Got it!

Just narrowly finished the game in time... Managing the scope of the game was tough, but I was really happy with how it turned out. I think it went well for my first game jam and first time working on a game in a team.
