  • Shooting letters in space! Interesting concept. I kept getting swarmed by letters while my gun was on cooldown and I wish there were some powerups or something more than just shooting. I do like the fact that the main menu is playable!
  • I appreciate the pun but the mechanics seemed a bit too close to reskinned asteroids to score high on creativity. But I appreciate the added life puzzle. It played well (even though I was on an QWERTY keyboard so the controls were a bit hard to adapt to, but that isn't something to count off against for you).

Nice interpretation of the theme, cool way to make a menu, and i like how the overheat bar is displayed next to the ship

I really enjoyed it, it's kinda addictive. I love the sound effects, the music and also the gameplay. I liked the playable main menu. Great work!

Nice take on the theme - I like it! It's nice and simple to get into, and even without the little puzzle minigame (which is a great addition!) it's a fun shooter. I thought the sound effects were really good too, very retro sounding, and they gave the game some nice feedback. I liked being able to continue too, even at a time penalty, since it made the game a lot more forgiving and meant I didn't lose too much progress, which was nice. Overall it was a fun shooter, great work to the both of you!

Yeah, we think about spending more time on the puzzle part in the future, to make it as interesting as the shooting one!
I'm glad you enjoyed the sound effects!
Yeah, that's what we thought about letting players continue, in the way Tekken or super smash bros brawl do! Always nice when you play with some beginners :p

Funny interpretation of the theme haha! Good job on this game, especially on the visuals and music, it looks modern and retro at the same time. Bonus point for the playable menu !

Perfect music and everything else, but sound effects are awesome ! I really like the puzzle part, and how the game is related to the theme.

great work! i like the blocky art and the music and sfx are really nice. I wish the game area was a bit bigger because i keep getting hit by stuff coming off screen without realizing it lol.

Hey !
The idea is simple ! :)
But we had little time to put it all together, that's why it might be a bit confusing !
On the first part, you are in a shooter arcade gam, where some weird forms (that happens to be letters) are spawning. When you destroy them, you "collect" their form.
Once you think, you have enough of these forms, you can press Esc to get into the pause menu and with the signs you collected (they appear as a number and a form in the puzzle part), you can fill the letters in the puzzle. If you fill enough of it, you'll get a score based on your time to collect the forms (and in theory based on the forms used be we did not had enough time for this :( )

If you can't fill the puzzle up, than you can go back to the shooter but you'll get a penality!
The goal is just to clear the level / have the greatest score (But the score is not perfectly implemented yet)

Be careful, we forgot to switch ZQSD for WASD. So it is in ZQSD. If you can't play it this way, you can still use the arrows on your keyboard!
