Track description | Creative process
Haven't played Animal Crossing before and don't own a switch to play it on, so I really couldn't get a feel for what to do for my track.
I was intending to try and emulate the games original soundtrack style, but from just listening to the music/not playing the game, I felt pretty uninspired, so I did this more "my way"
So after sketching an idea, I made a couple demo arrangements that I didn't really like/feel like finishing, so I decided to just record it on piano over some drums.
Drums are from Addictive Drums (Modern Jazz Brushes Kit) and the Piano is The Experience – Yamaha S6 by Dore Mark from Pianobook which is a free sample instrument for Kontakt and SFZ format, highly recommend it!
For effects, some Arturia Mellotron tape emulation and Izotope Vinyl and Cubase stock plugins for mix and mastering.

Even though it's different to the style used in the game, I feel like lo-fi jazz like this wouldn't be a bad fit, and it's really well made. Great work.

I'm weak to jazz, so the intro sold me instantly. I like that while different from the typical animal crossing style, it still fits as a background theme you'd here in the game with the chill vibes and slice of life relaxed feeling. Beautiful work!

Very nice track with jazzy vibes that could fit very well some parts of the game. The chords of the first section are so good, I loved when they come back later in the track! I found it a bit loud on some parts, but the track is still enojyable.

Thanks so much! I have to admit that the drum programming is mostly thanks to the developers of Addictive Drums, since it's mostly just a drum beat included in the plugin itself😅.

Got it from a recommendation of a friend and really like it. Its the Modern Jazz Brushes Kit pack for the Addictive Drums 2 (forgot to mention the package name in the info)

A nice jazzy composition, very smooth, I dig the summer-caipirinha-by-the-beach vibes.
It feels a little too jazzy for the specific context (sunny beach AC), but it's a great composition by itself. I think I'd love to feel a "catch" to it, a line or a theme that's a little catchier and that really stays in the head - but maybe that's just me being influenced by the original piece from the game.
I like the sound design on the drums, very spacious and aerie, but they might be a little loud to my taste.

Agree with you on all points! Had a proper top line/melody on the arrangements of this that I tried to do, but couldn't get myself to find an arrangement that felt right, so just submitted this sort of "base" part I was intending to make an arrangement over.

It's a bit low-fi and I really enjoyed it that way. The writing is really really good. Not sure how it would exactly fit, other than maybe a jazzy part from K.K sometime in the game maybe. Great job!
Thanks! Just watching gameplay footage without playing the game wasn't really hitting the creative nerve on this for me, so all my arranging attempts on this were pretty much dead on arrival.
I think going for a K.K style track is super valid to be honest, really like it!
