Controls were not intuitive and felt like they were bugging out. Often when I dropped something I was not able to pick it up. Some things were very difficult to pick up at all
The controls could be simplified I feel like, for instance why are there 2 "hand" iconographs per mouse button when you can use just one? Get rid of the white hands. I still don't know what "blue hand", "pink hand", or "star" mean, it could just listed as "throw", "use", "drop", etc instead of me deciphering what it is.
The player's camera shouldn't tilt up/down with the mouse when opening doors. I spider spooked me, but I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing. Mite b cool, just need more of a focus with easier controls.
Based on your input I reworked the tutorial poster a lot. While it's meant to be a "demo" tutorial, it should still be spotless in how it teaches the weird controls. I also fixed the camera when using doors. Thanks for the feedback, very appreciated and your game looks lovely.
-put your shit in a folder, zip the folder, not the files, fuck -in desperate need of a mouse sensitivity slider, this is way too slow, about 30cm for a 360, pls -took me ages to figure out how to pick things up, everything seems to need to be aligned perfectly at a medium distance to get picked up -- I kept trying to aim around 30% from the bottom of the screen, but it only works at 48-52% >every room has tissues -doors open in the opposite expected mouse direction -it seems like the top door doesn't open, don't know if it's me failing with the controls or if it's locked -felt like the [space] text was hints at what to do, but am starting to think it's just memes after trying to sit on the toilet and sleep on the bed -was trying to run towards the spider, got glitched into the floor, can't move -lighting up the fire is fun -sat in the bathtub, fell through the map
The atmosphere is fantastic. With a lot of interactable things (like the fire lighting), I'd thoroughly enjoy a full game like this.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to write this up, very useful. The doors opening direction is something I have to sit down and fix. Attic door and the one in the living room next to the TV are indeed locked, need to add a sound effect. The spider actually does slow you as you get closer but i need to trigger the visual webs that would make the slow movement make sense. I'll add settings for the next demo, it is indeed a very much needed feature.
