i have to say i raised an eyebrow when i calculated that i needed about 6-7 fingers to kill the first enemies, that definitively doesnt sound like a viable long term battle strategy
but imo they are fine, they are secretly salamanders, its visible by their eyes ;)
beside that, havent played persona so idk if that come from here but the idea of cutting stuff THEN having an action round is a bit dangerous for game tempo, like, you’re basically doubling the amount of turn you feel like you go through. thats also the 6-7 fingers bothered me, thats 2-3 turns of actions, with being able to do something only with 2 char out of 3 because if you either use as much ressources as you generate in the sacrifice phase, or you use more and always have to waste a character action because you cant stack up otherwise (not counting items or checking the enemy, imo its not part of the main gameplay loop (im biased i cannot be bothered to use an item even against the final boss in rpgs))
yeah thanks for pointing out the problems!
i also thinked that way but i had no time to make changes so i keep the way it is.
i am planing to update the game in future so i could make it more enjoyable to play!
i already have a tons of ideas that will speed up the tempo and rehaul the economy.
The limb cutting mechanic to basically "budget" your actions ahead of time is SUPER cool both functionally and tonally. It also felt really nicely balanced in terms of how many of each "skill type" you got.
Could be super interesting expanded into a full game, would love to see you keep working on this!
Deligthfully twisted and the persona vibe is definitely all there!
Really cool that you were able to replicate persona aesthetic so well!
Removing one's own limbs to take actions in combat? Now if that's not aberrant, I don't know what is! The enemy design is really fun, I'm Eyefist's #1 fan. I'm fascinated but what you could do with this concept on a larger scale, especially given the sense of permanence cutting off one's fingers to attack might have, haha. Could be an interesting resource management game in that regard. Good stuff.
Really cool, glad you were able to do such a neat study of persona hope you try to keep it going.
Game has a original gameplay mechanics with great potential and awesome UI. One major problem is lacking of content.
