Really good work, the atmosphere is really successful! The puzzles require thinking and we are always stressed by monsters! Just little thing, I find the character a little slow.

Perfect. Exactly the reaction i wanted :)

PHENOMENAL attention to audio in this, probably the best I've seen thus far. I love how tension is handled in this game, especially on ladders. Really, really great job.

Movement is a bit slow for me. Gives me headaches when im too slow in games. However. It was super creepy. Super tense. Good job on succeeding with that!

Developer

Thanks! The slow movement was on purpose; originally it was faster. What I didn't want you to be able to do is outrun the monster; you have to fight back.

It also makes the final chase sequence much more tense (if you got to that part!)

Thanks for the comment!

On my first attempt I got caught by the monster pretty quick lol but on the second one I was able to get much further

The puzzles require you to think but are still reasonable and intuitive to figure out. Having to keep an eye out to avoid being caught adds to the experience.

I really liked this! The puzzles were all really intuitive yet fun to do. I think you did a magnificent job making this! Congratulations!

Just played it and it was surprisingly a blast.

The assets might not be the best but I enjoyed the puzzles. The sounds are the best part imo, you managed to create a fantastic atmosphere, tense and scary at the same time. Nice job!

I haven't done 1-bit art before so I agree that the art was rough at times. I figured that keeping it simple was the way to go for a project like this.

I'm glad you enjoyed the gameplay though! As you could tell by the length at which I can describe the behaviour of the A.I, it was definitely the top priority.

I really hate horror games, and I really hate this game. Keep it up!

p.s. maybe try making the flashlight slightly illuminate the air? it might take away from the unknown factor but I feel like adding that would make the game more readable. idk.

Developer

Thanks! Glad to know its doing its job, lol.

As for the flashlight illuminating the air, I actually originally had it doing that but I found it did take away from the unknown factor, and made to game too readable to the extent that spotting the monster became less of a startle. A good suggestion though, and much appreciated!
