The game is intense! The player runs at 30 km/h, then goes ballistic and jumps off a 300m tall cliff (8 sec of free fall?). Very good
The game is inspired by how dangerous the whole experience feels when you jump off a cliff irl, so I’m glad that was captured in the gameplay 😂
Fun to play, like the unique idea with the run, jump, and dive and how it's different mechanics for each and how it affects the score. Overall, good job!
The failure modes when you didn’t get the right buttons or aimed poorly was hilarious. It took me a couple of tries, but I was finally able to start consistently diving. My best high score was 119.91. I have no idea how you were able to get such a high score at 500+!
Fun game and loved the silly animations.
Haha glad you enjoyed the game, the secret is really minimising the dive angle 😉 thanks for the compliments ❤
I get 212.23 points! very good idea. If you want, you can play my game: https://itch.io/jam/-pixel-game-jam-2024/rate/2718966
Took me a while to properly understand, and while you did actually state what the events are in the game description, I actually had a blast not knowing/expecting what the next gameplay mechanic was gonna be 😂
I’m getting this feedback a lot - maybe some tutorial text would have been a good idea 😂 but then people wouldn’t be able to see the work I’d put into the death animations! Anyway, glad you had fun :)
You can start with an easy / flexible input window as a tutorial and then in later make the timings get tighter and tighter as the player plays, they will end up seeing your death animations trust me! ^^
Neat game, I love the arcadey feel. Once I got the hang of it, diving was a lot of fun
Nice work on this game. I had fun playing it.
Very cool implemented aqua theme.
I really liked the graphics and the button spamming xD
the game is cool man!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
yooo, an animated stickman skillcheck adventure, i loved it even if it was short, approved ^^
I invite you to play my game and give me some feedback as well ^^
Really liked the concept and I had to play it several times because it was pretty fun. My biggest issue was with the dive mechanic as it would always make an extreme direction change in the last second or less, usually giving me no chance to react and guaranteeing failure. But I had no issues with the other mechanics and the combination of the different gameplay styles made it really fun. I don't know if it was intended or not, but on your page you mention face your fears and the timed panic-style prompts I think does a great job of capturing the same kind of feeling so that's really well done too. Nice job!
Thank you! The dive mechanic is intended to have a stronger pull the further you are from the perfect angle, so it should behave the same throughout the duration of the minigame as long as you keep it close to the green arrow. Glad you enjoyed the game :)
Cool animations. We implemented a similar mechanic with the keys.
oki
good game and great pixel art animations i love it
just a little hard and confusing (what to do when "aim" ?)
overall quite fun, good moment and congrats for the pixel art (just the buttons could be even improved)
Super fun game. Reminded me of this old NES game Caveman Games. I'd love to see it with a few more events. Pole Vaulting, Hurdles, Skiing, etc...
I think the simplicity of the artwork was charming, but if I think improving it wouldn't hurt.
Overall, very fun game. I had to play until I got a good enough score.
Good luck with the jam!

Haha thank you for your kind words. This is the first game jam where I spent more time on art and animation than coding and mechanics, so I think I’ll work with an artist next time 😂
It was fun to mash the arrow buttons :D
