Just ran Tannic for some friends who are new to the hobby using the D&D Rules Cyclopedia. What a great little adventure! The players liked it a lot. The module has a whimsical and lighthearted vibe, but also feels mysterious and grounded, maybe through communicating a strong sense of place. Sometimes, ttrpg adventures remind me of real places, places that seem familiar to me, because I visited them as a child or associate them with fond memories of a particular holiday trip or my hometown. With Tannic this is the case: An adventure like a collage of vague memories and half-forgotten ghost stories, sprinkled with OSR goodness.
