M Avery-Weir rated Dujanah

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

This game messed me up in the best way. The whole game was a ride -- I went from chanting along with the footsteps of the mecha to being very uncomfortable while walking around in the mind of an angry man to realizing that the game maybe wanted me to do a whole lot of killing (but also maybe that I didn't have to?! oops).

Artistically, aesthetically, tonally -- this game is very well put together, and I do love a game whose creator wants to mess with a player in a way that doesn't make the player feel dumb or condescended to.

A significant flaw (especially since I was streaming my playthrough) is the requirement to play the arcade games for so long. It was a drag on an otherwise very engaging game.

Smaller flaw: I couldn't get my xbox controller recognized by the game, and I think mouse+keyboard is not the way to play this.
