This game is alright. Not a lot of choices and I haven't noticed immediate impact based on choices. The story doesn't seem to branch, it's more a matter of missing out or not. In fact there are times I wish options would pop up because I can think of better solutions. Also, the MC reaction to some situations isn't the same as mine and that's always a little annoying.
There's a lack of sex scenes (only 24 over 9 chapters) or romantic/relationships. Example is that the MC declared love to a character and then they barely interact. No consequences or conversations about cheating. The females exist to only serve the MC or they're just plain not available. To bad because I would have liked to pursue that. Additionally, the player automatically declares love to another individual and because pp in hole means boy loves and not that it's just plain fun. PP in hole is not what love is.
It's not a bad story, but it reached the end for me after ch 4 (or maybe 5?) and I just felt done.
Declaration of love by MC without player autonomy. If the dark one is part of the MC then it's really self-love, which is good, but the game makes that out to be a sin for some silly reason (at least if returned). Yet, the game declares the two are part of each other but doesn't recognize that symbolism and take advantage of it. Instead it places a consequence on something that should be beautiful when it could be an opportunity for growth for either the MC or the dark one.
The premise of things is a bit ridiculous, see above. A strong lack of sophistication with the motivations and scenarios.
My first response is to give 3 stars, but then I think about all the others I've given three stars to and I question if this really deserves to be in those ranks. This game is what I think average should be, but the reality is that this genre is so filled with crap, that real quality barely exists and so the grade is curved. To me this game was nothing special and really missed on some opportunities. Having the MC make choices different than the play, constantly, resulted in disconnect. The fact that "love" interests are immediately forgotten resulted in disconnect. The fact that the entire story moves along "because" and results in a ton of "super easy, barely and inconvenience" resulted in disconnect. The fact that there is not only no risk but no player ability to influence things when there was resulted in disconnect.
Flavors. Strictly vanilla. With a name that seems dark and casual killing of other humans, you would think the flavors might also be a bit darker, but it's really just vanilla and even then it misses out on a huge range of vanilla flavors. It was another opportunity to draw me in by offering flavors that are less common, but the flavors are what every other game offers up other than pleasure feedback. But that wasn't focused on enough and sometimes just plain forgotten. Another opportunity missed out on.
I think I need to go three stars, after reflection. The disconnect is too much for me. I really went back and fourth but the flaws make this game average and forgettable to me. The premise I could forgive if there was solid relationship building, flavors, or the women had personality beyond the MC, or the motivations were more real. Yet, because the other elements are absent the unrealistic premise also becomes a weakness and then weakens the entire story. If I have to suspend disbelief, the suspension of disbelief needs to be worth it.
