man.  the art is really solid but everything else is losing me

the game is weirdly mean to the protagonist.  her parents turned on a dime from doting to kicking her out, i guess?  and despite the intro text scroll about how everyone consents wink wink, she clearly gets beaten up and raped and then beaten up some more afterwards.  i have no idea how she's supposed to be consenting to anything here, and honestly that just reads as some generic CYA disclaimer.  i could kind of understand a world where just doing sex at someone is normalized and lower-stakes, maybe, but there's not really any effort here to establish that either.  so it feels like just some porn tropes stapled together and i guess i'm not supposed to think about it

it's also got the usual adult-platformer problem where sex only happens as a result of failure, and therefore if you're good at the game, you won't see any sex scenes.  which is weird.  right?

the platforming isn't hard, but it's still needlessly difficult from the get-go, with some early cave area in particular that puts platforms so far away you can barely see them at times (in order to force you to make your max jump distance every single time), introduces seeker projectiles at the same time as you're trying to do the fiddliest platforming in the game thusfar, and then also warps you all the way back to the beginning if you miss a jump.  a big factor here is probably that there just aren't a lot of things to interact with, only solid geometry and enemies, so the only thing to do platforming-wise is...  make big jumps.

it's also clearly just stock unity physics using a capsule collider, which means if you stand on the corner of a ledge, you slowly slide off

the default keybindings are WASD and surrounding keys, so you have to play the entire game with one hand (ho ho), but this means sometimes awkwardly hitting three keys at once.  there's a keybindings menu but it doesn't seem to work, and it's not available from within the game.  also none of the menus can be navigated with the keyboard so you end up needing your right hand anyway

it seems to be under development though so maybe none of this will be true next week
