A perfect blend of jumping, running and shooting. Excellent aesthetics, which perfectly convey the sense of dread and chaos that the narrative is exposing all along, in the form of text in the background. The jumping, running and shooting -mechanics all feel tight and responsive and the level-design is consistent and introduces new traps and enemies at a very nice pace. The arcade-style gameplay, with a score-system, based on enemies killed and time it took to complete each level, suits the game perfect. Add to that the fact that you don't get a 'Game Over' screen, just because you die once too many, but rather the game counts your deaths at the score-screen, as well - something I find a very nice change of pace, from the older generation of Arcade-games/Platformers that were mainly designed to make the game(s) feel that much longer (and demand more skills, perhaps) than necessary.

A well-rounded experience that's easy to pick up and play and fun to complete over and over, due to how well it all fits together to form one solid little gem of a game.
