There was never an official Itch.io app. A couple of people tried making their own, but apparently gave up after a while. If you're thinking of one in particular, try contacting its creator and tell them. :)
Yes. That was made by a fan with our admins' blessing. One of the two I was talking about. It wasn't official. It wasn't made by our dev team. You'll have to try and contact its creator. Thanks for the interest!
