Description

First of all we want to thank Itch. io for being here, it's a pleasure to be in this community. We are university students team  based in Madrid, Spain developing the videogame Agent00. We would like to share the stage of the development of this videogame with all of you. We have been working on this project for a few months but it is not finished yet. We're planning to release it on 25th May.  We would greatly appreciate if you could support the development  of this game by subscribing to us on Twitter, Youtube or following us on Itch.io. Agent00 is a game of spies, stealth and puzzles. It's a time of  Cold War,  infiltrating the USA and bringing the victory to the URRS.  

It's both an isometric view and third person game. Where the main character will try to solve a series of puzzles while moving through of doors in a diffuse space, with the intention of achieving certain objectives without being uncovered.

Hello everyone!!! 

Thank you again for reading.  Let's start with the visual style of the game.

The visual style we chose is Low Poly, a very atractive art. Two reason for our selection: One, objects are very well highlighted and another  one, the style doesn't require graphic loading.

"The Places"

Hello good morning!!! We want to show you the areas of the game

We have designed our game divided into buildings (levels) which in turn are divided into floors. The player challenge is to solve  an independent puzzle in each floor. When you overcome all floors in an ascending movement and reach the final goal, the level will end. On some floors, there are both security cameras and agents, a sniper and a laser to monitor the area and detect intruders. 

Here we show our first developed building. More buildings like residencial building, White House, government  house and Nasa building are still in development.

Hello everybody!!

I bring with me the greetings and good wishes of the people of itch.io. Let's start with our main mechanics.

We want to surprise the player with our original mecanichs based on rotating room 180º. This allows players to find hidden items. The invisible part of the room covers-up hidden doors and objects.  All single rooms can be rotated 180º except the elevator rooms and double rooms.

"To go to another room"


 Hello everybody!!!.

 Thank you for be here and reading . Let's explain how one room connects to another

Lots of progress with our mechanics!  The question is "how to go to another room ?." 

Doors are connected by portals and each door is differentiated by colour.  The player can go to another room and explore  it but he has to be  vey careful not to get lost.

" The security"





Good morning!  How is everything going? 

Let's start with something fun. We are going to show you how is the security of the game.

To make the game more challenging, we have implemented "security" in some rooms, to make harder solving puzzles. When the player is detected by camera or agent, he has a few seconds to escape from the area. If he can't,  the alarm is triggered and  he can see feedback on the UI . The background color changes to reddish.

"Minigames"


 Hello!!! My greetings and wishes for everyone!!. Let's explain the minigames in game.

We think that in-game minigames are one of the things that better work in our game . So far,  several minigames found by the player allows him to unlock hidden rooms and switch off alarms.

"Rotating rooms"



Hi everyone!!,  Thank you again for support.

 We want to show you our new mechanics. Rotating rooms ! It's going to be a challenge. It's not as easy as before. Not all rooms can rotate, some rooms like shown in the picture are rotated by the game without player intervention. This features  make more difficult the mission for player.

The player has to wait for the room to turn in order to access it, but the player has to be very carefull so as not to get involved and not get lost.

Rooms that cannot be rotated are properly marked.

"Laser 2D or 3D?"




Hello!!. How are things going?  Let's start with some fun. Today I am going to show you our new  security alarm. 

We have implemented a laser beam. it sweeps from left to right back and forth to detect any intruder.

How could you avoid to be detected? In the last picture you can see the player using a smoke grenade.  Another way is hidding in lockers. 

We have worked hard to implement this security but finally we succeeded. We are very happy with it, but we are still wondering whether to put a 2D or a 3D laser beam. 

We need your comments about your preference between 2D or 3D laser beam.

"The Sniper"


Hello everybody!! Thanks for reading our updates.  Let's see how  "the sniper" works.

The sniper is a key element in our security system .  This control is to make things more difficult for players. 

It hasn't been an easy task to get it. Here the different steps: first, making sniper 2D in our 3D game; second, you have to watch the area and  detect the player and then a few seconds later make the shot. 

We are proud of have achieving it because it makes the game more demanding and challenging for player.

Do you agree with us?

ive a pretty cool idea i think you should implement so inbetween levels you should have the option to go the HQ ,, and its basically your agent hq and u can play mini games there  buy new upgrades or do some shooting etc would add a sense of another option to the game giving players a mental break when they feel burned out from levels

"Smoke grenade"





Hi everybody!! Hoping you're gonna  to enjoy  our new mechanics called "Smoke grenade"

This has been designed as a help to give Agent 00 several seconds to escape from an impending danger.

You can check on our screenshots how the player is hidden by smoke from the grenade. The surveillance camera doesn't detect him. You only have a few seconds until the smoke disappears. 

We think it's a very useful tool for hard levels because it helps a player a lot.

"Walkie-Talkie"

Hello, good morning!!,  Thank you for be here. Today we have something new and incredible, called "walkie-talkie". This is used as  a trap to  stun the security guard.

We have developed this mechanics to help a player and be able to throw off the guards guarding the area.  It hasn't been easy to develop it but we've done it. It's about getting the guard out of the room and going to a desired point and stunning him.  With this technique it will be easier for a player to access  strongly monitored areas. Remember, you can't  use often the walkie talkie because you have cooldown.

"High Jump"



Hi guys!!! Here once again. A lot of thanks for following us.. Let's start with something really fun.  We call it "High Jump".

This time we've developed something fun for our Agent 00:  he's got a chance to jump from room to room.  It's time to jump, with this new mechanics the player can access another room with just a jump. 

This mechanics works very well if you run out of time. The option of jumping from one room to another is always shown. So, players know when they can jump. 

You have to choose very carefully which room you want to jump because the cooldown is big and you can't use  frecuently this mechanics. You also have to make sure that the room you want to access by jumping has an exit.

"Hiding place"




Hi guys!

You as Agent 00 now can use a safe place like lockers to hide yourself from patrolling guards.  And how do you know if you are allowded getting inside a locker? Very easy, you are advised by a  symbol.

Once the guard leaves the room you can get out and go on doing whatever you're doing.

"Game Interface"





Hello, good day everybody!!.

Today we want to show you something really special. Guess what? Our game  interface. 

The visual style of our game interface is in keeping  with the Cold War setting of Agent 00. It took us a while to design this interface but finally  we made it and we are glad with the result.

This is a very important part of the game because it's the first thing the player sees and therefore has to call his attention and keep him playing. To get players satisfied, both interface and game style must match.

In the menu you can select sound, graphics and levels.

The selected part is marked with two red stars and bordered with a reddish color as seen in the last image.
