Need feedback on my games' page, thumbnail, title, description and marketting

I know its a silly request, but I feel like people are not giving my game a chance just by looking at the links alone.

I dont get much clicks, and so on.

I heard people dont actually like reading about genre  or gameplay as a hook.  I also heard a lot of people find SHMUPS, and Bullet Hell as huge turn off, even awards and so.  I also swapped my thumbnail into a gif.

I changed the title and such thanks to this feedback.

Any thoughts on how can I improve it more?

Plenty of contributors around the world meet likewise problem - the problem of dealing with oversaturated market. There is more than plenty of stuff around. I would even say there is so much stuff around as to make some people think that the entirety of it is unworthy of dealing with, while being better off finding a more focused and balance-minded hobby.

Sometimes I use to think, one does not need  'games'. One needs 'THE game', a game that would make one a BELIEVER.

As I do agree with this comment, me and my players do believe that the game  is super different in comparison to any game out there. But there seems to be a lack of clicks on my posts and I have no idea why. :(

I think you waste your energy trying to find a 'reason'. I think there is more of a chance than reason to it. Think of it like of a lottery. Some win, definitive majority, does not. That is why, if making games itself is not enough of a gratification for you, there is disappointment waiting.

There is tho. Which is why marketting teams have values usually, they try their best to optimize these tiny openings and hooks.

Its sad and painful thing. :(

Hey Alexvaldez,

my personal opinion about your thumbnail /page is - that it looks really freaking good!

Don't focus on the numbers, just stay true to yourself...
Remember why you started making games  in the first place and hold onto to this mindset.

Thank you for this, your comment really is something I need to hear for a while now.

Tho as much as I want to focus on just working on my game right now. I'm betting alot on in this project, and I think its a disservice to the fans of the game to not grow this game's community. Which is why im hoping to find a way to increase its numbers by at least find the reason why people are not clicking the links. :(

Your page and marketing look super professional! Do you have any social media that you post about this on?  Social media can be super important for discovery. In such a saturated market, it's really hard to get people to pay attention on Itch itself but if you're showing personality and passion through social media, it can go a long way.

Also, I've never had to promote a game like you're doing so I don't really know, but in my opinion as an outside observer, you might want to change your title to use the subtitle that's on your page, not the one that compares it to other games.  I personally feel like that takes a little away from the professionalism, but again, take my advice with a grain of salt on that.

I hope you figure it out and get the attention you want on the game! It sounds like when people play it they really enjoy it. It's just a matter of getting more eyes on it.

Thank you for this! It really means alot especially how it feels like itch.io wants to push my game out of the spot light now. One week with decreasing clicks isnt that cool for them I guess.

I have a really popular fb page. But I have yet to win the twitter crowd.

Tho I think found ways to win them now. One of the major problems im having it seems is that im posting on the wrong hours (im on the other side of the world afterall)

As for the title, its both a good and a bad thing I guess. As I recently posted at GameJolt and its getting some attention as well.

My analysis so far is that perhaps the itch.io crowd isnt looking for games like this. Perhaps its not as weird, quirky, or scary like the other games here? I maybe wrong, I will still grind my way outside this hole.

Yeah the players really enjoy it. Which is why i want to get more views for them. Thanks for pointing this out :)

Yeah, noticed that too?
