Spammers infesting itchio!

Me and many other devs are getting spam posts from newly registered users like this one:

https://itch.io/profile/jebadi2488

their accounts seems to be banned but the spam posts remains, I think it's time to auto-delete posts from suspended users and also maybe block newly registered users from posting links?

Can you please report posts like this when you see them? That will ensure their posts show up in our system internally so we can update our spam detection rules accordingly.

Thanks

Cool will do that

Thanks, I also banned and purged the account you linked from the entire site.

Same issue, but from the point of view of a user. Reporting works, problem is posts remaining completely visible and in chronological order.

I found a game where spams have been downvoted multiple times (negative score) *and* user has been deleted (probably thanks to reports; the report button doesn't appear anymore after user deletion). But the posts are still displayed in chronological order, so the bad posts remain on top and they are not grayed out.

I think a reddit/StackExchange-like system that allows you to sort posts by vote count by default, and also gray out posts with negative score automatically (with an option to hide them entirely) would help a lot. Otherwise, we'll have to resort to browser plugins that enhance the itch.io experience by parsing post data and changing the CSS? But sounds convoluted.

Can you send me a link to the game where you saw this. We’re trying to clean up these zombie posts so it helps to see the issue when it happens. Thanks

The issue is still there, people just keep registering new usernames. As I posted on twitter, today woke up like this:

https://twitter.com/WinterwolvesG/status/1191246313523953669

and that of course is not good, that user was already suspended - why not automatically delete all posts from an user who gets suspended by spam? I get stuff like this 2-3 times a day and it's making the site unusable. I may have to disable comments on all my games if it continues like this...
