Project Indexation issue?

Hello there, I'm writing this here after trying to contact the support twice, one day 8 from last month, and another this month, just to be sure I also want to add this complain here to see if things can be explained a bit further.

I have checked the page about indexation, and I followed all the rules, game is public, there are files to download, public extra options are not selected so I'm not opting out of indexation, the project has thumbnails, the page is well made and have all information, and yes I had access on the page, but I did notice that even if I search my own username, the only game that appears is my first project.

My second project which follows the same layout of the first, from page description to how I add files to download, it's even entirely compatible with the app so people can just download the game and install with the app right away, is not being shown, I can search for the full name, or for my name, and it doesn't show. Being frank with you all, it's a miracle I've had a few thousand visits on the page, but the fact that the project is not indexed can hurt it in the long run especially since I need more people supporting me and for that I need more people seeing the project, download the current version of the game, and so on.

I know a LOT of people are talking about this,  asking what is happening, but my project is public for 31 whole days already. I just want to know why is it not being shown to people who searches for it? Thank you for your time and I'm sorry if I was rude at any moment.

...Like the rules of this category explain, the people who could answer your question are unlikely to see your post. Luckily the cause is obvious: as amply discussed in recent months, NSFW projects that accept payments can't be indexed under the current site rules. Hope this helps.

... Even if the project lacks any NSFW stuff into it? True, it is marked as +18 because there may be strong language, but there's literally no NSFW content into it.

But fine, thanks for your answer I guess.

Hi! I have the same problem. All my content is free, but it's deindexed. I'm not as concerned about the NSFW assets as I am about the deindexing of my game. It's a normal, free safe-for-work jam game, the page is properly formatted, and the last update was 24 days ago, but for some reason it's also deindexed. What did I do wrong?

Dunno, but it looks like your game should be fine. I'll speed things up for you.

Hi!

I’m experiencing the same issue with my project — it has been public for over two months, but it still doesn’t show up in search or browse results.

Here’s the link to my page:
https://willyxz.itch.io/paper-doll-for-farmer-base

It’s a Unity development tool (not a game), 100% SFW, and all the indexing rules have been followed:

  • Public page (not opt-out from browse pages)

  • Files available for download

  • Proper tags, cover, screenshots, and description

  • Category: Tool

The project is active — it has already sold about ten copies and received 7 five-star reviews, so visibility through indexing would really help users find it more easily.

I’ve also contacted support a week ago but haven’t received a reply yet.
Could someone please check if it’s deindexed or stuck in review?

Thanks a lot for your time and help 🙏

Oh.... Indexed Just now

Hello ,

I’m experiencing an indexing issue with my demo page:

  • Page: https://hhd14725.itch.io/inkoid-demo

  • Status: Public, downloadable demo files available.

  • Actions taken: I followed the indexing guidelines and published the page about a week ago.

However, the page still doesn’t appear in search/browse and it hasn’t been indexed yet. I previously reached out but haven’t received a response, so I’m following up. Could you please check what’s blocking indexing on your end? If I’m missing any setting or requirement, I’d appreciate guidance on what to change. A manual re-index would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help!

As explained in the unofficial FAQ pinned at the top of this category, it can take that long.

As explained in the rules of this category, you have to post your ticket ID here to have it escalated.

As I ask everyone, next time please make your own topic, because I almost missed your post.

Thanks for the guidance! Sorry I left out some required details earlier—I was confused about the ticket ID. I’ve created a new post under my own topic with the correct info. Could you please take a look?
