Could Arcades Be the New Discovery Engine for Devs?

Steam is crowded. The mobile app store is noisy.

What if you could launch on a physical arcade cabinet…and get players to try you IRL before they even know your name?

Too niche? Or a massive visibility unlock for shortform devs?

We’re building it. Curious what you think.

I think it it doesnt Really Mather where you eventually Launch your Games especially because you anyway have to Launch on as much different platforms. Also physical cabinets have Limitations of Resch  because its locally and not Quantum superposition because itch or Steam have one Major Advantage they are unlimited and can bei accessed from all around the Globe. Also it Most certainly could be problematic to Port Games, because i imagine Problems concernsing controls like for myself im Creatine brutal fps shooters only and cabinets woulnd't feature a Mouse i assume lol :) stupid aggro People also easier could Damage cabinets Like Stealing the Mouse. Concluding the amount of Money you'd Need to Just place a few machines would exceed my possibilities i Guss also in my country you Need a to contact system slaves at the Majors Office If you're even allowed to place machines. For me its more a relic of the past and playing your fav. Game somewhere in a bar against calmly trouble-free playing at Home....for me the decision is absolute clear...

Best regards, love and preace

Cute idea. I'm no expert but I like it. Would it be like a syndicate of indie devs that all agree to put their games on one system and then try to sell it on Amazon or something?

I don't think it would help with visibility that much because of the type of games that are on arcade cabinets. As you've mentioned in earlier posts, you're looking for games that last five minutes. That sort of game is targeted at arcades, and wouldn't even be on Steam. Also, I don't think that I would go try to find a game that I played in an arcade at home because they usually aren't that great outside of the context of arcades. Also, saying that Steam is crowded is true, but doesn't really matter. The majority of games are low effort games or asset flips, and if you make your game look good, it will do better than the marketing you get from having your game on an arcade machine. This is just my opinions though. I'm excited to see the Luxodd, though, because I want to see how the strategic betting works.
