Sooo spoooky! OMG I was kind of scared to play!

Ok so the graphics probably intentionally are not amazing, and the game could definitely build up to more than just mazes and trap doors and orbs (or maybe it does and didnt notice cuz I didnt give it enough time) . But everything works amazingly GREAT programming! ANd it keeps you going! Definitely on theme, AND you mapped the gamepad perfect.

Very well done. Are you going to keep this guy in development? if so I can’t wait to see what’s next.

One critique ( space the orbs more (make less of them) and give their collection a sound effect of some sort, that would be more satisfying when you get them especially after you’ve gotten lost and can’t find any for a while…. not that I’m speaking from experience or anything….. :D

GREAT Game!

OH this is addicting!! Played for a hot minute. Nice work!

VERY much on theme and it REALLy was fun. It started over so fast each time was about to give up that before I knew I was playing another round!! Played like 50 time until I finally had a good run! I CAN see this being an amazing Luxodd Game.

On critique. You mapped to up on the dpad, prefer left joystick up or to incude it? or… you could just map it to button 0 cuz I mean its just a basically a 1 button game.

Other than that you nailed the theme!

Very good work

Oh yeah!!!

Ok this game is great! Definitely one of the top games so far hands down. Nice work!

One critique: the joy stick turn of the bird is a little finnicky bird. If you are holding a direction the bird sometimes turns unexpectedly. But all in all this game is FULLY featured and well done. music and sound effects are perfect.

Well done!

Joystick integration would be nice! This game has great graphics!

Why no reverse? Why not document your missiles? How come the Hazard lights don’t work!!??

Also, generally I think the game should restart or something after you fall of the cliff… instead of letting you drive.

Nice work though! Great start. Definetly don’t fall off the cliff! :D

We’ve already got 15 submissions, and they’re all over the place in the best way possible: AI chaos. Clean code. Janky code. Fancy graphics. Two pixels and a dream. Games that should not work but somehow do.

If you’re polishing instead of submitting, stop. Your game does not need to be perfect; it needs to exist. Upload the version you’re mildly embarrassed by, as that’s the correct one.

Done beats perfect every time.

Ah man this one got me. Nice work

Sweet! Excited to see what you make 😋

Don’t take it down! This is a fun one! Look at the leaderboard. People are playing it!

You got it! Sorry i forgot they expire…

This one is good for life!

WOW! such fun an interesting game! Like tetris but not :D. Love it

its fun… but I mean… totally not following the theme other than the lava jumps. Thanks for submitting though! This game is super fun and cool.

This game is…. ok. I think we can do better? the theme is barely being followed

dang 65 here. nice work on 75

OH man super fun game! nice work! Id say this one is probably going to win so far submitted :D.

Hey Iskream!

Super fun game! Loved it. Very much a galaga type feel of a game.

Just FYI this does not follow the theme so it disqualifies it from winning this specific jam, however I think it would be a fun game to play on an arcade!

Here it is Tuvo!

Zoom… Maybe post your game too? It’s still Mia.

Our last generic game jam ended weeks ago. We are constantly hosting game jams, though. Maybe follow us so you’re notified when we host something next

Its fun! Maybe levels? :D anyone else able to get to 67? image.png

To make it more competitive prob be good to add joystick compatibility.

Ok sweet sounds good thanks

Hey Whirlybirdman

Just tried Cliff Swinger…man, that grapple loop is addictive. I got nowhere near 111 (still trying!)

We’re running a game jam right now called One More Run III, and the theme is literally about that edge-of-the-cliff feeling, staying alive by a thread (or in your case… a cable 😄).

It’s super chill; you can submit an existing project like Cliff Swinger if you want.

If you’re down, here’s the jam page: https://itch.io/jam/one-more-run-iii

Would love to include Cliff Swinger because it totally fits the vibe.

Hey Joelchrono!

Just played Cliff Hanger…that wall-grab time-freeze mechanic? Genius. Genuinely had me grinning when I realized what was happening.

I’m helping run a jam right now called One More Run III, and the theme this round is basically “don’t fall off the cliff.” So naturally, your game immediately came to mind.

Would love to have you in. You could submit the current build or tinker with it…up to you. It’s a casual jam, just a fun way to spotlight cliff-edge chaos and show off cool mechanics like yours.

Here’s the jam link if you’re curious: https://itch.io/jam/one-more-run-iii

It’s short, low-stakes, and full of devs who love weird platforming ideas.

Would be awesome to have Cliff Hanger in the lineup

Hi,

I’m a fellow dev with a weird little team called Luxodd Games, and we’re running a chill game jam called One More Run III with the theme: Don’t Fall Off a Cliff. Your game already fits the vibe!

You could even drop the current build in as-is or remix it a bit…totally up to you.

Here’s the jam if you’re interested: https://itch.io/jam/one-more-run-iii

Hey Lucas!

Your game Cliffhanger is seriously cool…I love that you built it in LOVE2D. You’ve clearly put heart into this one.

I’m part of a little arcade dev crew called Luxodd Games, and we’re currently running a jam called One More Run III with the theme: “Don’t Fall Off a Cliff.” 😄

Honestly, your game is already on-theme, and we’d be psyched to have you join, whether you want to remix it, add a new twist, or just show off what you’ve already made (we’re super open about what counts as a submission).

Here’s the link: https://itch.io/jam/one-more-run-iii

Would love to have your energy in the mix.

À bientôt maybe?

Hey Saching!

I came across Cliff Racing and just had to reach out…the moment-to-moment panic of trying not to fly off the edge? Perfectly brutal. 😄

I’m part of the team behind Luxodd Games, and we’re running a jam right now called One More Run III, and the theme is “Don’t Fall Off a Cliff.”

Your game literally captures the spirit already. We’d love to invite you to join with a fresh remix, side mode, or even a submission as is, if you’re down for it.

Jam’s right here if you’re curious: https://itch.io/jam/one-more-run-iii

No pressure at all…just thought it was too on-theme not to say hey.

Cheers

This game does not fit the theme, and is creepy

also I had to run it on the VM because I did not trust it, all sorts of red flags.|

For this reason I’m am disqualifying this submission. please try harder.

also you don’t have control pad mappings

Very nice!!! two comments on this one:

  1. the screen is tiny when I play. Not sure if you can make it full screen or just bigger?
  2. no gamepad integration.

other than that this is a super fun game. Fits the theme perfect

I’ve been using paypal, but I’m flexible.

Awesome appreciated! Yeah our goal is to really move indie devs into the limelight. So if you got talent, we’ll get you noticed… hopefully! As we grow, I’ll expand into new markets and make games we promote more profitable.

Anyone see this? Too much AI in this? Let us know what really makes you want to join 😅

I honestly think this is the best one yet! But… i’ve been wrong…. ALOT

Hey Leafo, mind taking a look at ours? We are on our 3rd game jam, and my situation feels very similar to NicotineGum here. Just looking to get really involved w/ itch community. We’ve heavily promoted on instagram and reddit as well, but nothing beats Itch.

(1 edit)

Oh man Gamemaker??? We’ll I’ll make you a deal. If your game is good, I’ll pay my guys to assist you in the conversion process. Possibly map it to unity so we leverage our plugin, or even make another plugin for gamemaker just for you (and others who come along in the future).

I’m all about making things easy on game devs.

Hey maybe this is me, or I don’t understand itch, but…. how do I play this guy? I’m not seeing the download link. Looks super fun!

also just fyi... if you like to nerd out like me High-level architecture | Luxodd Game Docs

That will give you an idea of what's going on w/ our system. We make your webgl game fully supported on an arcade. It's pretty badass

Great questions! Sorry for being slow, I was watching the LA Rams lose 😁

Q/A:

Q1. So does the game have to involve falling off a cliff or can I be creative with it and do something like an Ice Climbers-like? Not directly like it, but basically the same concept. Platforms vertically, get hit once you get knocked off or dropped down a platform?
A1. I mean the idea is you don't want to fall of the cliff. I think you nailed it w/ that.

Q2. If you do get an arcade cabinet made, do you get one mailed to you or do you have to purchase it still ?
A2. So I am a new start up business, and what I built is an arcade cabinet that deploys indie arcade games. Essentially, we rent these to venus who have customers that want to play arcades. I attached some pictures above of one I have in my office. Essentially people select a game and pay w/ the POS. If they play your game you get to split the proceeds w/ the merchant who bought the cabinet. It's a win-win situation, free eyes and advertisement for your game, and you will get all the royalties your game makes. Basically I make the software that enables you to deploy your game to this. There is a small plugin we'll have you download for your unity game (assuming you use unity) and it does most of the work.

Oh course! Fire away

Okay devs… we’re running ONE MORE RUN III — Indie-to-Arcade Jam and this one has a very specific obsession:

Your game must have a cliff. A ledge. A pit. A void.

Something players can fall off that instantly ends the run.

Because nothing creates “ONE MORE RUN” energy like the moment you almost save it… and then plummet. 😭

💸 Prizes

🥇 $200 🥈 $100 🥉 $50

The real prize (for real)

If your game is arcade-perfect, we can port it into the Luxodd ecosystem and put it on real cabinets in real venues.

That’s not hype; we’ve already done this with:

  • Wabisabi (mobile → cabinet)
  • Star Carrier Catalyst (jam build → cabinet)

What we’re looking for

  • Instant-to-understand (10 seconds max)
  • Short, replayable runs (3–5 minutes)
  • Fun to watch (spectator chaos encouraged)
  • Controller/arcade-friendly inputs (simple + punchy)

If you’ve ever wanted strangers to crowd around your game and yell advice like it’s a sport…

This is your jam.
