We’re excited to officially announce that CraftPix.net is sponsoring ONE MORE RUN IV 🔥 That means… more power-ups for you.

Top 3 Overall Winners will each receive:

🎁 1-Year CraftPix Membership on top of the cash prizes we already offer.

Some of you asked for examples.

No, dummy!

If we give you examples, that defeats the whole point.

This theme is not about copying clever twists. It’s about breaking something players didn’t even know could break.

Think of the one mechanic your game is supposed to have…

And remove it. Flip it. Corrupt it. Weaponize it.

If we can predict it, it’s not it; If a player can guess what happens next, it’s not it.

We’re not looking for “interesting.” We’re looking for: “Who let you ship this?”

Stop asking for inspiration and start causing problems.

Close this page. Open your engine. Break something important.

Then make it addictive.

Get to work!

Okay… so remember how we said there were prizes? Well, it’s not just money as earlier said.

We’re excited to officially announce that CraftPix.net is sponsoring ONE MORE RUN IV 🔥 That means… more power-ups for you.

Top 3 Overall Winners will each receive:

🎁 1-Year CraftPix Membership

Huge thank you to the CraftPix team for supporting indie devs and backing the chaos 🙌

Reminder: The Theme Is…

“Please Don’t Do That.”

Make something that feels wrong. Break a core mechanic. Flip expectations. Do the thing players beg you not to do.

Then do it anyway.

Oh also wanted to mention in case nobody’s noticed that we picked up a sponsor! Check it out. Makes the prize that much more sweeter… Like a box of chocolates. Too soon?

And just to mention, maybe it doesn’t need mentioning, folks in our community are more than likely going to get their games ported faster to an arcade than any other person in the history of man. Because this is something new and different. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out our main page. We’re building arcades for games you can deploy. It’s pretty cool.

Hey guys!

Happy Valentine’s Day! If you’re feeling bored or alone, maybe participate in a sweet game jam today! Check out our One More Run “Please don’t do that” addition theme! It is just what you need to get over those Valentine’s Day blues 💙.

If you’re feeling blue “please don’t do that” or if you don’t have anything to do “please don’t do that” I think this jam’s going to be fun!

See you over there

(1 edit)

We are officially encouraging you to make terrible choices.

For real, we are. That’s why we themed our latest jam “Please Don’t Do That.”

This is the jam that favours games where:

The jump button deletes itself The tutorial lies The pause menu attacks Gravity files for divorce

We don’t want safe or clean. We want games that make people shout,“WHY would you do that?!” “…okay wait. Run that back.”

Build something that feels illegal… Something that shouldn’t work… A game that players argue about.

If it’s chaotic but addictive, you’re on the right track.

💰 Up to $300 in prizes 🎨 1-Year CraftPix memberships (Top 3) 🕹️ Real Luxodd arcade port potential 🔥 Dev spotlight + interviews

The Latest jam we have is meant to fill the valentine’s blues void with its theme. Figured it was appropriate :D.

  2. then we’ll announce it on our social media and give you lots of kudos.

Here is our last announcement if you want to see how it’s done.

The next one we’ll see if we can get your games filmed at a live venu with our arcade, possibly in front of our paying customers.

You should join our discord. Fyi we are doing a dev choice award.

Apologies for the initial rating. This game does in fact follow the theme… and after playing a bit I found it to be a bit fun!

The joystick integration seems to be broken? The gaps between platforms are impossible to jump, unless I just am missing something? Didnt know slide kills zombies, took a few tries to understand!

I’m so sorry for my initial 1 start review. Your game deserved much better, andI think you have real potential and making this into a full fledged game. Thanks for pining me on discord. this is a very interesting runner game.

good start. I think you got most of the arcade elements down. The game itself did not have me wanting to play more though.

obstacles whent hey come I don’t know what to do or if they are obstacles? You mentioned fuel I never noticed it.

I died a few times not really knowing why?

Music was fun but could be improved

The theme for “don’t fall of a cliff” was not followed though, so no points for that.

Thanks for the submission. Interested to see where you go w/ this.

Great start! I can see this being a fun game w/ some improvments, def need to introduce some monsters ( i know you mentioned a spider?)

Critique:

  1. I someitmes died… had no idea what killed me (maybe the spider?)
  2. The graphics are aweful. I know your going for that scarry vibe w/ blurred vision, but it just makes me sick playing.
  3. Monsters are needed, should be running away from something or incorporate more drama into this.
  4. trapdoors as cliffs… Hard to see them when they open, should make a autible sound or something so you know to look down.
  5. Hard to navigate the level

I could see this being an arcade game! but it needs more levels!

The theme is not really followed but I’ll give you a point for the water you can fall in

graphics needs improvement or full screen mode? hard to see.

after beating the game, you need a leaderboard for times so you can compete. But I think more levels in general would make me want to keep playing.

No gamepad integration but great music and SFX. You are on the way to a good arcade game.

I’m following you on this one. Can’t wait to see the full game.

Great game! gamepad integration is perfect. The music and sound effects are fun, and you nailed that tony hawk feel!

Critiques:

  1. Look ahead map and rail enhancements, can’t jump off the rail, or predict obstacles ahead so that made combination moves limited.
  2. The theme was don’t fall off a cliff. This more focused on don’t fall off your skateboard, but there are some cliffs but it’s not the focus so giving you partial for that. 3.Leaderboards would be a nice arcade element.
(1 edit)

You nailed the theme! Nice work! Played this game a bunch and it is def a top game. Love the music and beat. simple and intuitive as well

Critique:

  1. Gamepad integration ALMOST finished. Need to still push enter to start the game
  2. No sure if this was intended but the duck button does stay ducked? so you have to push it again after. Seems to mee you should be able to hold it down.
  3. You should add a leaderboard, so people know how good they are doing compared to others
  4. New highscores should be celebrated imo

well done! nice work!

I did not like this game. I don’t think it met the theme, and it was not intuitive to play.

You have gamepad integrations started? but not full working, couldn’t fly left.

Shoot and boost were not intuitive, Fly around for a full 3 mins before you see enemies.

Did not want to keep playing.

Keep working on your skills, you’ll get there. Ask for help on the next in our discord. I think you could have cleaned this up much better from my initial test/feedback.

(1 edit)

Excellent work. Much better than when I tested it earlier this week. You’ve really evolved this game well! I could see this game becoming a arcade hit for sure. You obviously nailed the theme! Super impressive how fast you made this game. Music and sound effects are good.

Critiques:

  1. The controls are still a little unintuitive, still unsure on missiles it’s not labeled correctly in the control box on the lower left. And no obvious gamepad integration. Also gear down (does not mean reverse!).

2.The game is too easy even on hard. There is no urgency to go fast, no clock ticking you down, nothing would stop someone from driving carefully forever and blowing up every obstacle w/ an unlimited supply of missiles.

other than those your game is well built and does not appear to have many bugs at all. I love that when you die it takes a little snapshot of your death (great way to start over)

GREAT game! You sir know how to make a good game. Minus one point for cliffs not being “cliffy” because you not really “actively” trying to not fall off a cliff. I wish my score could go down in history on the leaderboard! please add that!

This game is a top runner for sure. nice work

This is a REALLY cool game and I actually love playing. I would keep going but…. A couple issues the void sometimes kills you right at the beginning of the game. You need to work on getting that to be more reasonable. Sometimes you’ll be in a void that is basically a lake and there is no way to escape. In order to leverage strategy, there needs to be at least 1 safe place to move every 2 changes of the void (given its change speed). Also, I think changing the void a bit slower will still make the game fun. Getting that timing and ensuring the user understands it is critical, I think. Minus one point for this miss-timing and another for killing a player right at the start due to a bad void.

The game glitches out when the joystick is connected. Much better however w/ the music and sound effect! The arcade action of this game is only extra steps. You are are just about there.

I really think this is an interesting game, and you can go much further w/ this concept.

Hey sorry for no feedback. This didn’t follow the theme, and had no instructions and i didn’t know exactly what i was doing once i started. So I just didn’t put any effort into it.

Apologies for no feedback back. On my phone now if i get a chance later I’ll play it again, but it can’t win like this.

Love the music and the sound affects, the game is very functional and no gus. This game is great! I could see this on an arcade. Nice work!

Critiques

  1. No full screen
  2. screen is small
  3. Joystick not working (says gamepad, so I didn’t doc hard on that)
  4. Would like to see a graphics refresh (the borders are not well defined)

image.png

This game is great! I played a ton. After a while it gets real simple once you get a good strategy going. But that is exactly how you want a game to feel. Agree w/ Illuminati Dad on the jump feeling a bit stuff. But ultimtately those are my only critiques. Nice work!

Great game. I ran about 50 times! I would keep playing too, my kids loved it! this could easily be an arcade game. It has great sound effects, and I love the megaman like explosion when you die. It is truly a fun well balanced one button games

Jam specific Critiques:

  1. Not really cliffs, but stay on the platform specific which works.
  2. No joystick integration, it would have been super easy to hook it up to 1 button.
  3. No metrics on how far you get, or high score (that makes it feel more like an arcade and keeps it competitive for others to compare).
  4. No music, it needs something that draws people in while you play.

This game was VERY interesting. I love that it was basically Jenga. Totally a unique and different experience.

It was hard to maneuver the cow, and the blocks were kind of unpredictable w/ the physics engine. The beans were random and didn’t make a ton of sense to me. But I love the art and creativity that goes into this game. I think if you refine it a bit, it would truly be a unique experience that people would want to come back to. As it stands now, it just needs to have some key UX refinement.

Great game. Just needs joystick/gamepad integration and some more challenges up ahead since you can easily just play this forever. Leaderboard is great but I think people should type in their names to make it personable.

I really love the concept of this game though. It was well developed.

doc 1 for music and catapults not calibrated for strategy.

I can’t believe this was AI generated. Claude did a great job.

Its a great start, but all prior comments still stand.

(2 edits)

Hey you fixed the bug!

Great game! Ok only 1 last critique. Needs music :D. YOU sir have a great game here.

Doc one because its “DONT” fall off the cliff and one for music. Everything else about this game is awesome.

(1 edit)

its a good start of a game but not a contester. keep working on it you could definitely do something w/ this, but you need something else also to make it stand out.

sound effects are no fun

no music

no gamepad integration

no metrics to make me want to play again

bugs out once you get to a point
