Game not being indexed even after almost 4 days

hello! This is kinda of a desperate call for help, because for my very first game, I expected better from the initial release.

Yes, I have read the indexing guide here

I have properly tagged, added screenshots, banner, metadata, description and everything. I thought it was a queue issue but games uploaded after mine still appeared on tag while mine still isn't indexed after almost 4 days..

I contacted staff but still no response.

Here is my game link:  https://stubbedt0e.itch.io/kalopsia-lets-descend-together

i tried my best to advertise but it isn't enough since I don't have a massive platform outside..it would be amazing if an admin decided to take a look into this matter.

Thank you in advance.

Please read the rules of this category, they tell you what to do. Until then, this unofficial FAQ explains why it can take that long.

I have read it all. I think the only thing I haven’t done is explain why my game should be indexed. Which I can provide here:

1. It actually got close to 500 downloads in only 4 days

2. I put genuine effort in it, providing screenshots and description and tagged right.

3. Big youtube channels have played it already, indexing would give me more opportunities to work and expand my game.

4. It's my first game and as a real person working all alone on code, story, art, it's hurtful to not see my work getting indexed.

As for my request number its 280671.

I've let our admins know.

is there genuinely no hope for my page to get indexed? I don't understand, as far as I know I haven’t broken any guidelines and double checked everything multiple times..Still no follow-up while low effort pages still get indexed. Do NSFW pages from particularly new accounts get unindexed like this for a while or have I broken a rule? My email hasn’t been responded to as well after 3 days so I did a follow-up.

New request is 281169.

Please be patient, it's been less than a day since your last post, and it's the weekend. Sure, I can remind our admins again, but itch.io staff doesn't work weekends. And it's only been a few days overall.

ah okay thank you for still keeping up

The waiting time for getting indexed can be over a month. So your waiting time of 4 days seems kinda small in comparison. I do not know the current estimate. Just read similar threads.

I do not know what Itch staff is doing or not doing. But they take several weeks to remove reported malware and I think that would be more important than indexing new games. R-112156 R-111516 R-111520 R-111522 are from Februrary and still indexed. There are more.

I feel like Itch directs my reports into the spam folder. I have no plausible explanation why an important thing like that takes so long or is ignored. Maybe the ddos attacks are to flood their system, so things like that do not get worked on.

my issue isn't that. Spammy looking low effort pages uploaded after mine got indexed while mine didn't with actual traffic. I just wanted answers on why they got indexed but I didn't while putting actual effort.

because the staff looked at them first?

well they didn't look at mine so I made a report 🤷‍♂️ I need to know where it went wrong. Not being mean to you, sorry if it came off as that.

no worries I know it's frustrating

You assume that indexed games got looked at by staff. They were not in most cases.

If staff has to look at them, they are in a waiting queue. That queue is long and staff is busy. You account is two weeks old. There are people with older accounts that had to wait over a month.

I didn't even assume games get looked at by staff. I was replying to the person who claimed they do.

The way you talk seems like you are saying people who are new don't get to complain about unfairness and older users should get priority when everyone deserves it equally. My game and account matters to me and I have already ended the conversation with the staff. Have a nice day.

You did not have a conversation with staff. This is a message board. You talked to the message board moderator - who is not staff.

should get priority when everyone deserves it equally

But treating people equally does mean that you have to wait the same four weeks+ that everyone else has to wait. Even older accounts.

i understood that now and do not wish to proceed with this conversation anymore, I simply wanted to understand why the different treatment for some games.
