Asking for tips on creating a portfolio website

I'm in the process of creating a website for my creative endeavors in the game art/game dev world, but I'm a little stuck on how the website should look and feel.

  • What types of things do you expect to find on an artist's or game developers personal website?
  • Are there any examples of really professional or cool websites that you think I should take inspiration from?
  • If you have a portfolio website or general website for your work, I would love to take a look at it

Thanks!

Here are some examples:

heres mine,  nothing fancy but I have a background in Web design and dev, https://portfoiliogamedev.netlify.app/ , I opted to show the skills I have gotten up til now and showcasing my projects, its simple but IMO it gets the job done.

I think people can worry too much about their portfolios and websites, and keeping it simple is usually a good idea.

Often people who commision artists (and I've done this myself), will be looking at a lot of profiles and asking themselves these questions:

Is your art a good fit for the game?

What are your costs?

Are you pleasant and reliable to work with?

How do I contact you?

And, of course, if the website ian't purely for commissions but also for a way for people to know more about you, or even as a diary function, then you could incorporate a blog section or something.
