If you made any content about Kana.exe, whether it's a let's play, blog post, fanart, or anything else really, please feel free to post it here! (This should go without saying, but post ONLY SFW content.)
I would say very promising game so far. I like the mystery going on in this, and especially the Y2K/XP styled Era aesthetics going on as well. I think most of the bugs have been said at this point. I guess for one random gameplay thing... this might be a nitpick.... but I think the 017 folder should have been available, and as well anywhere else the time you enter the mystery guy part of the game within the game part, instead of just being in the image studio. I was so very confused like where's the folder, and I thought the game is going 4th wall within "4th wall" (quotes because to denote the 4th wall is in game, while the non quote, meaning actual file explorer, which would be crazy if anyone do that, and also yeah why in a certain part the door is complete transparent, because I edited it lol, no worries I ignored every spoiler.... until the only ones needed I guess.)
Nitpick/rant/issue aside, I like your art as well, and it's really cool! BGM/s are also nice to listen I guess. Overall, promising game, and can't wait to see the last of the mysteries to be unfolded.
Very early 2000's indeed, the ongoing mystery and the use of the "game within a game" was very cool, playing with the image editor and the files was a big head scratcher and lots of fun; Hopefully this project continues into something bigger because I NEED to know what happens next!
I did found some bugs but nothing major or game-breaking, the only thing I found odd was the folder that only appears in the image editor, thankfully the great idea of using the forum as a soft guide for dummies like me was a big help, and very creative!
Keep up the good work!
This was such a cool game! As someone who was definitely using forums in 2006/2007 and had been fascinated by scary stories and creepy-pastas at the time, this was a very nostalgic game to play through ^^
Even with the bugs, it was plenty beatable (even if I did have to reload from an earlier save a few times.) I really enjoyed the puzzles, and the way that you implemented the website(s) and program interfaces was honestly really cool. Even after getting the endings, I still have so many questions. It's a mystery that I don't mind remaining unsolved, but
I will absolutely be playing this again if you add anything more after the contest is finished.
You did a great job with kana.exe. Keep up the good work!
