Quarantine in game that is safe

Hi,

A player told me yesterday, and other people, that my game was in quarantine.

Maybe this has happened because I uploaded my game release after a long time as I was working on it. Or maybe because it's for android.

I don't know but my game is all 100% safe and uses no data at all, it is all offline.

Or because yesterday I managed to start bringing people here in a decent quantity to download it. Many of them scanned the game and saw it was safe, of course.

It's sad because when I finally had it ready and published, and people are starting to download it, this stops many players from trying.

I've mailed support (request 266096), but I would like to know how much time does it take to fix this.

Also, if this can happen again.

I am using itchio for my links to send people to download. Because of this problem I was forced to change the links to another place, and it's ok but I love itchio.

Please can someone have a look or tell me the estimated time to fix it, and if this can happen again to a same game once reviewed?

Thanks!

I've let our admins know. For answers to your questions, please read the rules of this category, and/or this unofficial FAQ.

Thank you.

What I'm worried about is that when people come because I'm promoting it, they can feel scared away because of the warning.

Thank you so much for your care.

Sorry I waited several days but still no answer from support. Can someone have a look, please?

There's nothing more I can do. Staff doesn't read the forum.

Thank you anyway

I emailed them again. Hope they reply

Itch will not tell, why the game was quarantined. For all you know a known scammer shares your IP range and uploaded a scam at the same time or something esoteric like that. Maybe you got reported by people thinking it was an adult game, but the automatic sorted it into quarantine. Maybe the traffic you sent to your game was suspicous, since your game was hidden for a year or so. The scams in the psa about the try my game on discord scam are hidden. Probably a combination of several factors out of your control.

Anyway, give it time. It is a similar waiting game as for getting indexed. Could take a week or four weeks. And as far as I know, Itch does neither send out quarantine notifications, nor notifications for getting out of quarantine. They just take a lot longer than the time mentioned in the faq.

Thank you. I understand.

I got downloads any way, so I suppose people are used to false positives.

My game is now OK and indexed. Thanks itchio support for fixing it. It has been very quick and now all works alright. Thank you.
