I need quick feedback on a screenshot

Hello everyone! I'm working on a small short visual novel for a game jam, but I ran into a little problem. I found a textbox that would perfect for my game but due to the white in the character sprite it's a little difficult to read the dialogue. I was able to fix the problem by moving the sprite to the side but it looked really awkward how she was off to the side so I added a silhouette of the protagonist's head. I don't think it looks too bad but can you tell me if it looks stupid (*/ω\*)

It looks good on my large screen monitor. It might be difficult to read on a small monitor because the text is small and narrow.

I like the silhouette - it makes the image more intriguing.

I like it. Dark colours lots of blues. Very enchanting

Thank you for the help :)

Seeing the silhouette's head is half covered by dialogue box makes me think that you should move the silhouette higher. This is also to solve other issue which is the text could blend with background if the latter is bright or even white and you need to fill in the box with color.

I would add a low opacity color to the textbox

For me it's definitely hard to read, especially since the font is so narrow. Don't forget that the primary "game mechanic" in a visual novel is to read text. A well readable font and size of it is even more important. Another idea might be a font-size setting (Where you have to check whether everything is visible or can be scrolled into visibility with the biggest select-able font size ).

To further improve readability I would prefer the background monochrome or only slightly textured. How about to placing the text inside a single big cloud?
