Project being downvoted?

Hi, I just release my first game on sale and I posted it in the Release Announcements yesterday. Today I noticed that my thread was downvoted to 0.

The community rules state that cheating the vote system is strictly prohibited such as asking for votes or creating fake accounts to upvote but what about downvoting with no real reasons? Should Itch consider taking actions towards that too?

If you mean your recent release announcement, it hasn't had 10 views as of this writing, and two of them are mine. I find it plausible enough that the handful of votes you could have received have balanced out. But if you suspect foul play, then an admin can certainly look into the database for multiple accounts using the same IP, for instance.

I couldn't understand why someone will downvote a topic in release announcement where it is a place for developers to announce their game. It didn't break any rules nor is it placed in a inappropriate thread nor a discussion topic.  It does feels like foul play to me but I don't know.

Downvoting expresses the opinion of other members. If your topic had been misplaced or in breach of rules, a mod would have moved it and/or asked you to change it. And downvoting a topic doesn't change much right now. So at worst it's an act of pettiness from someone. Should I ask an admin to look into it anyway?

Yeah okay, thank you :)

I don't see any downvotes on it, I see 1 upvote by you.

Previously it was downvoted to 0. Yesterday someone up voted to 1 but it wasn't me.

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing. Can you give me direct link to the page in question. Thanks

Yeah, this one - https://itch.io/t/331395/punk-ex-2093-space-ironman#post-593778

Thanks and sorry about this. I mean if this is getting too troublesome or time consuming to investigate, you can drop this matter anytime.

Ah, sorry I must have read something wrong, I don't see a vote from you. In any case there are no downvotes.

I understand, thanks for checking.
