Do you have any plans for physical copy?

Developer

Weā€™ve just released a physical copy for paperback on Amazon.

It looks like they're already sold out. When do you think they'll be restocked?

Glad to see a physical copy. But where I'm living there isn't any delivery. Is it possible to do like Lulu?

Hi Sparuh!!!
Congrats on the physical copies-releasing!!!! (Does this mean that no more updates will be done to the Rulebook?)

(1 edit)

can someone tell me where is the fish oraclopedia? Is it missing? For my first day I was excited about going fishing and after a success the book say pick a card from the fate deck and check the fish oraclepedia to find out what you caught. I cannot find it. Help please !

Developer

I think it might be missing. Weā€™ll check and get back to you. If itā€™s missing from the pdf which might happen because of technical issue.

We should be able to update by the end of the day.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

no need to apologize, I understand that some stuff might be missing, it is no big deal. In the mean time, I made myself one with very cute singing eels that you can keep in jar filled with water. And luminous fish that glow pink in the night, make a nice and cozy pink warming glow if kept in a jar.

Developer

We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked to improve things on our end. Iā€™m happy to let you know weā€™ve just updated the pdf to version 1.2.4.1, which should fix the remaining typos and other reference to the oracles in the Actions. Also adds the new fish oracle section you were looking for. I hope you find it helpful and enjoyable as you continue your adventures!

And I just want to sayā€¦ Wow, thank you for taking the time to share your gameplay!

Iā€™m so glad to hear youā€™ve been having fun with our product and were able to create your own adorable singing eels. Did you name it yet?

thank you for making that great game!

What I meant was that I made my own fish oraclepedia while waiting for the official one and it filled with cute fish and water creature, like the butterfly cuddlefish, the singing eels, the sea serpent with wings of silver laces, the pink glowing puff fish, the rock fish that walk the bottom of lake with small feet instead of fins and others cute creature.

I was also wondering about raw material for crafting, do I need to go forage for them? Or they are provided in the workshop ? If I need to forage for them, it could take months before I could find some material if I am unlucky. But if everything is provided, then it is not much of a challenge. How do this work?

Developer

Thanks a bunch for the shout-out ā€“ weā€™re stoked that youā€™re digging the game! Your fish oraclepedia project sounds like a blast ā€“ I mean, who wouldnā€™t love butterfly cuddlefish and singing eels, right? And that sea serpent with wings of silver laces? Epic.

Youā€™ve got a good point about the raw materials thing. We totally get that itā€™s a bit of a slow burn, and yeah, foraging and growing stuff can take its sweet time.

You can try using the Barter Action under 2. Hangout. Engaging in trade can be a fascinating way to acquire the materials you need. To explore this, you could initiate a conversation with fellow islanders, inquire about available trade items, and proceed with the rest of the barter action.

please do not take this the wrong way it is meant as improvement only.

you guys have put in a tromendous amount of effort and time into this game, but I just read the fish oraclepedia and it seems like it was trown together in few minute just so the game is complete, but it does not feel like solitaria.

for exemple: K: Magmarine  Survives in extreme heat and spews fireballs.  Tangler  Has long tentacles and ensnares its prey or foes. those feel more like pokemon then solitaria creature, because, no other creature in this game need to fight or defend it self, they all have a purpose and function, either to make resident more cheerfull, or to help them tend to their garden or home, etc... like  : 9: Glass Antelopes  Delicate antelopes with fur like glass that tinkle when they move, giving a sense of serenity and beauty, Now that is more like it.

I Know you guys might be really busy and everythings, if you want I can send you the fish oraclepedia I made for myself while I was waiting for the official one. I believe I have good stuff in there, and it might just give inspiration, or some good idea. You might not even like it, and I might be wrong, but it does not feel like it the right fit for the game.

I made  a little mushroom out of basswood to use as a token to track time.

Developer

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful creation with us! šŸ„ Itā€™s amazing to see how youā€™ve crafted a mushroom out of basswood. The natural look of the wood really gives it a special charm.

Weā€™re curious, do you have any plans to add some color to your mushroom, or are you planning to keep it in its beautiful wooden state?

Weā€™d absolutely love to share this on our social media to inspire others with your creativity. If you have a Twitter or Facebook account where we can tag you in the post, please share it with us, and weā€™ll make sure to give credit where itā€™s due.

Once again, thanks for sharing your fantastic work with us!

thank you for the kind word! Here is my instagram account https://instagram.com/nlalonde?igshid=MzMyNGUyNmU2YQ== for more wood whittling

Thanks! We'll check out your account and tag you once we've posted it!

If we get the paperback version from amazon, can we also get the PDF copy on itch.io? Also has the paperback version been updated with the new information and text?

Yes, you will be able to get the pdf copy once you've purchased the paperback version on our website, itch, or gumroad. We've also updated the latest paperback version with version 1.2.4.2.

Do you have a timeframe for when the pregen characters will be released?

We are currently updating the older games' art and copywriting at the moment. As for the pre-gen characters, we will release it after Halloween around Christmas season as part of the playkit along with the printables and character sheets. Which you can download and print yourself.

I ended up buying the pdf and then the printed copy on Amazon! šŸ˜‚ I'm still working up my courage to actually play. šŸ˜…

What version is the physical version on Amazon?

Hi, disgruntled_traveler! The current version on Amazon is version 1.2.4.2.

Hello! Iā€™ve been eyeing this game for a while and decided today is the day. I have a job where Iā€™m away a lot and was hoping to find something to play in the evenings when Iā€™m away from home. The price seemed a little high (which is why I didnā€™t purchase sooner) but now I understand why. There is so much to this game!

I havenā€™t started yet but Iā€™ve been reading and rereading the rules and had a couple questions:

Is there going to be any kind of rule cheat-sheet or quick start guide? It would be really helpful to have a summary of all of the steps with page numbers laid out for quick referencing.

This is more of a me issue, but is there another way to resolve things without using the fate system? I try and travel as light as possible and so far with solo rpgs have been able to get away with using a cards app on my phone for games that require drawing cards. This is the first time Iā€™ve encountered having to use the discarded cards and Iā€™m not sure how to proceed.

If you have any advice or suggestions Iā€™d love to hear them. It might just be that I have to start packing cards with me, which is ok. Iā€™m away right now working on a research vessel and canā€™t get to a store for a couple of weeks so I may also have to wait to start playing.

From what Iā€™ve read and seen so far itā€™s a beautiful game. Looking forward to giving it a try, and seeing what you come out with next.

Developer (3 edits)

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and for choosing our game! Weā€™re thrilled to have you on board.

Regarding your questions:

Rule Cheat-Sheet or Quick Start Guide: We appreciate your feedback, and there isnā€™t an official cheat sheet. You can find a summary of all the gameā€™s actions conveniently laid out in the rulebook from pages 86 to 168. This section should assist you in navigating the game more smoothly. The quick start equivalent can be found in pg.4. And we are trying to create a cheat sheet but it is not feasible for now due to the amount of content from pg 86 to 168.

Alternative to the Fate System: We understand travelling might not be an ideal situation to keep a deck of cards. Instead of packing physical cards, you can use virtual dice, which can be a practical solution. Hereā€™s a breakdown of how to use them:

d4: Use this when you need to roll for the suitā€™s rank.

d5 (Fate Draw - Simple): Use this for a simpler session. Assign numbers 1-5 as Critical Failure to Critical Success.

3d13 to emulate Fate Draw - you can also use other dice setup such as 3d12 and experiment (Complex): We recommend you to use a 3d13 setup. Assign 2 dice as your base range. The higher die result is the upper base range, and the lower die result is the lower base range. Then, assign 1 die as your Fate Roll. Roll your Base first and then roll your Fate Roll die. Apply the result accordingly.

d52 or d13: You can use these for oracles or tables that require you to draw a card from the main deck. If itā€™s hard to keep track using the d52. Use a d4 to determine the suit and then use d13 to determine the number.

This approach allows you to play the game without relying on the fate systemā€™s discard pile, offering a different but still random gaming experience.

You can use this website or download an app on your phone with it: https://rolladie.net/roll-a-d13-die#!numbers=1&high=52&length=1&sets=&addfilters=&last_roll_only=false&totals_only=false https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.rolladie.diceapp&utm_source=global_co&utm_medium=prtnr&utm_content=Mar2515&utm_campaign=PartBadge&pcampaignid=MKT-Other-global-all-co-prtnr-py-PartBadge-Mar2515-1

We hope these suggestions make your gaming experience more enjoyable while youā€™re away. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please donā€™t hesitate to reach out. Weā€™re here to help.

Weā€™re delighted that you find our game beautiful, and we look forward to your feedback as you dive into the world of our game. If you have any more questions or thoughts in the future, please feel free to share them. Enjoy your gaming experience, and stay tuned for exciting updates!

I'm a bit confused about Setting and Completing the goals. What to do with the track number of the goals? (1 for GYW, 2 for MAP, and 3 for TAO)

Say, I have a goal (explore the island) TAO with a track number of 3. Does that mean I need to successfully take a stroll 3 times before I roll for Completing The Goal? What does the goal score do? If I fail, do I keep trying the Complete the Goal action?

Developer (4 edits)

The number that for the corresponding Goal which is GYW:1, MAP:2, and TAO:3 is meant to be used when you seek the goddess and present her with your completed list of goals. She will then take the list and hold the Blessed Union ritual to judge it.

So the higher your score here, the more likely it is to get some benefits during the ritual.

So, if you have a goal like taking a stroll around the island and you are convicted to do it. You follow this step:

  1. Write it on your Goal Sheet: Stroll (TAO)
  2. Go to the Stroll Action, and perform the Fate Step. 2.1 *If the Fate Step triggers any additional steps, you perform it. 2.2 E.g: The stroll was a Success. So youā€™ve successfully strolled around the Island.
  3. Return to the Goal action and refer to the Table.
  4. You *Check: ā€œThe result leading up to the completion of this goal is the: Stroll Actionā€. It was a Success. So, you receive a +1 Bonus.
  5. Perform a Fate Step and apply any of the 5 result. You could still fail the goal at this point.
  • You couldā€™ve gotten a Critical Failure, then you might have to revisit why youā€™ve failed so horribly. Maybe when you where walking, you were distracted by a weird looking cloud and ends up following the cloud instead and made it back to the house sooner than expected.
  • It couldā€™ve been a plot twist, which means youā€™ve succeeded. But something else comes up. (You can use the scenario oracle to generate a random scenario.)

Write down the score:

  • Stroll result, Success = 1
  • Goal Fate Step, Critical Failure = -1
  • Goal Score, Critical Failure = Failure (TAO) = -2
  • Total to be written in the Goal Sheet = -2

I see. That makes sense. Thank you for your quick answer. I think, on p. 55 - 56, leaving  the goal scores  out and maybe explaining these on goal completion with an example can make it clearer. Because I also thought bonus +1 from a successful take a stroll action was to be added the Fate Card value to increase the chance of a success on Fate Step of Goal Completion. It makes more sense to add it to the final score.

Can you also walk me through Blessed Union Ritual? For example, I completed 7 goals with a total of 12 goal score and want to attempt a Blessed Union Ritual. How does goal score of 12 affects the ritual? What happens if it's a negative value?

On step 3, I check if Why of the 7 goals I completed align with my Dream and Passion. It's a +1 for each that aligns, -1 for each that doesn't align. Say, I've been diligent and get a +7 because all the goals I completed aligns with my Dream and Passion. I can add this +7 to my Fate Card, not for this ritual but for the Blessing Ritual after this (if I succeed). Is this correct?

Then the Fate Step for the ritual.
-For a Critical Failure, I redo the whole thing, nothing gained.

-For Failure, nothing gained. Is the difference with Critical Failure that I can choose a different why and try again with that?

-For Success, I can attempt to do Blessing Ritual now and I add +1 to my previous +7, bringing it to a +8?

-For Plot Twist: I succeed but cannot attempt Blessing Ritual? Is this somewhat a Failure in terms of mechanics? All 4 options are about restarting.

-Critical Success: I can attempt Blessing Ritual and add +2 to my previous +7, bringing it to a +9.

Developer (2 edits)

Thanks, we understand the confusion. We couldā€™ve really phrased it better.

For your questions, you will refer to these two page:

  1. Blessed Union (pg. 117)
  2. Blessing Ritual (pg. 118)

Blessed Union is really split into two outcome:

  1. Whether the Goddess found the goals to be satisfying, or not.
  2. When it is satisfied it will proceed to the Blessing Ritual (pg. 118): Means either Success or Critical Success.

So, say youā€™ve got 12 scores + 7 (because it is all 7 goal connected to your ā€œWhyā€) for a total Goal Score of 19 (Yes, itā€™s for the Ritual). Hereā€™s what you will do:

  1. Go to the Blessed Union and perform Fate Step: Assume itā€™s a normal success. You gain a +1 Bonus to your Goals Score.
  2. Total Goal score now is 20.
  • *Critical Success is means you get a higher chance by adding +2 Bonus to Goal Score.
  • *Plot Twist is a failure + extra step.
  1. Since it is a success, the Goddess gives a thumbs-up and summons all the spirits to perform the Blessing Ritual. (Head to page. 118)
  2. During the Blessing Ritual, head to the Ability Oracle to buy an Ability (the cost is Divine Favor). You obtain Divine Favor by Nurturing Divine Favor from the Goddess (pg. 116). Itā€™s similar to building a relationship with other residence.
  3. You can improve your chances to gain the Blessing by sacrificing an item.

For the Blessingā€™s Fate Step (pg. 118):

  • Critical Failure: You gain a Divine Item. Head to the Divine Item Oracle, draw a card and you obtain that item.
  • Plot Twist, you can gain +5 Divine Favor, Gain a Divine Item, or You gain a Clock Power-up for one day, You gain the ability that you seek
  • Success: You donā€™t get anything but you gain a higher chance when performing a Blessing Ritual in the future with a +/- 1. This means you can add or reduce the Fate Step value by 1. (Add this to your sheet)
  • Failure: You failed and lost everything.
  • Critical Failure: Similar to failure but you spend more time. Additional +1 TS at the end of the ritual.

How do you use the Goal Scores? I think this is not phrase properly of was just too small a text. Itā€™s mentioned here: ā€œThe +/- allows you to add or deduct the number of the Fate Card during the Fate Step, specifically for the Blessed Union: Blessing.ā€ in page 117.

  • What this means is that the Goal Score = Bonus Score. Means you can add or deduct the Fate Stepā€™s value according to your Goal Scoreā€™s value. In this case you have 20.

Letā€™s say you draw a 2 (Low Base) and K (High Base). You Fate Draw is A. You need at least +3 to be successful, and +14 to be Critical Success. You can deduct like this: 20-3= Success or 20-14=Critical Success.

Otherwise, it is a Failure.

But +/- means you can deduct or increase, lets say you wanted a Plot Twist instead of a Critical Failure. Then you just use your Goal Score and reduce the Fate Step Value from Critical to Plot Twist.

There is no remaining Goal Score. Once this goal sheet is used, you start with a new goal sheet.

If you have a negative Goal Score, the Bonus will be negative. E.g: Fate Step Value - 20.

will it ever be made to support optional co-op play?

Developer

Hi there! šŸ‘‹ I completely understand your interest in having a co-op option for iXe. šŸ˜Š Unfortunately, adding co-op play wonā€™t be possible in the near future as our development team has their hands full with our current project pipeline. I know how exciting and fun co-op can be though! šŸŽ®

We do hope to revisit the idea of expanding iXe to include co-op play at some point next year after completing our existing projects. Itā€™s definitely on our radar! In the meantime, please know that we really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback - it truly helps us prioritize potential new features. Thank you for being such an engaged member of our community! āœØ

it's alright, I understand that you folks put a lot of hard work into the game. I think I can use the same rules from Scopicity to accommodate co-op play as they run on similar systems.

Btw, I bought the physical version of scopicity and I'm excited for it to arrive.

Hi, I just saw this on Amazon UK, but the prices seem weird - the standard colour print is more expensive than the premium. That's can't be right can it? I'd like to get the premium one if you can post a link to the right one!

Thanks for a great looking game!

Hello! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I appreciate your interest in our game and your kind words! šŸ˜Š

Youā€™re absolutely right; the pricing on Amazon UK does seem a bit unusual. Weā€™ve double-checked the pricing and our royalty, and it appears that everything is correctly set. However, we understand your concern, and weā€™ll investigate this issue further to ensure everything is in order.

Thanks! going to go for Premium, but I'm sure it'll look great even if Amazon make a mistake.

So I had a question, I was looking through the game files. (It looks to be a very lovely game I'm excited to give into.) But I am generally wondering about the Pre-made character section before I take the plunge. Is that available yet and I am simply just not finding the information on that or it is something coming down the line for future updates?

Developer (1 edit)

Hello!

Thank you for your excitement about our upcoming game! I appreciate your curiosity about the Pre-made character section. Currently, itā€™s not part of the initial release, given the extensive content we have at around 224 pages. However, we do have plans for it in a future release.

It might be presented as another book or a supplementary digital version, serving as an add-on to enhance your gaming experience.

While the details are still in the planning stage, weā€™re dedicated to providing you with more options and content in the futureā€¦

hey injust got my physical copy delivered and I'm reading it as we speak.  I noticed you said physical purchasers could get a pdf that be handy how do I do that?  Also where can I find character sheets etc to print out (suspect I can do this from the PDF version.

Looking forward to delving into this.

Developer

Hey there! šŸŒŸ Iā€™m thrilled to hear youā€™ve got your hands on the physical copy of our game! šŸŽ®

To grab the PDF and character sheets, head over to the main page and scroll down to the ā€œDownload Demoā€ section. Youā€™ll find the Solitaria Enigma Aerie Playkit v1.2.4.pdf file there, ready for a free download at 92 kb.

If youā€™ve purchased the full version on Amazon and are missing the PDF, please shoot us an email at sparuh.com@gmail.com. Be sure to attach your proof of purchase from Amazon, and weā€™ll swiftly send you the PDF copy, along with the encryption. Apologies for any inconvenience, and thanks a bunch for your patience! šŸ˜ŠāœØ

no apologies necessary thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure how Creature Sightings (under Adventuring) are supposed to work. The success and critical success entries for the connected fate table refers to a common and rare (respectively) creature oraclopedia, but I can't find either of those anywhere in the book. Thanks!

Developer

Hello! šŸ‘‹ I appreciate your keen eye and inquiry about Creature Sightings in our game. šŸ§

I must apologize for the confusion. It seems thereā€™s an error on that page.

To clarify, for Creature Sightings under Adventuring, consult the Creature Feature Creator. There are no rare or common creature oracle.

Instead, you do the same thing:

  1. Draw a card
  2. Head to Creature Feature Creator instead.
  3. Match the card with the creature feature youā€™ve spotted
  4. Assign it a worthā€”common or rare. (You can find the relevant information in the Worth Reference table on page 59.)

I apologize for any confusion and rest assured, weā€™re working on fixing this error promptly. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please let me know! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. šŸ˜ŠšŸ“–

So i am just getting started with playing, but i cant for the life of me understand actions and fate deck stuff. Everything from session zero i understand, but everything after the Rize Spirit stuff i don't. I understand how to generate whether and pick a starting season, but its super confusing after that.

I'm sorry im sure its just me, i play a lot of these but this is the first system to mix me up. Is there a video of someone playing to work at a tutorial, or something like that? iv tried to follow the step by step guide and still don't understand. If i saw someone playing it im sure it would fix my confusion.

Developer

Hey there! šŸŒŸ Totally get that the actions and Fate deck stuff can be a bit puzzling initially, but youā€™re on the right track! šŸŽ²

After choosing your season and consulting the Rize Spirit, youā€™re set for step 2.

Head to page 12, ā€œGame Flow: Starting your day,ā€ where youā€™ll gaze upon the islandā€”Enigma Eries on page 87, to be precise.

Letā€™s say you opt for an island activity like ā€œTake a Stroll,ā€ ā€œInvestigate,ā€ or ā€œRecreational.ā€ Draw cards for the Fate Step as instructed, and let the story unfold.

Unfortunately, we donā€™t have a gameplay video at the moment.

Hello!  I purchased the Premium Paperback from Amazon -- is there any way I can get a PDF copy as well?  I sent an email on your website, just thought I'd also ask here in case you check this more often.

Developer

Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us both here and via email. Weā€™ve just replied to your message and appreciate your interest in obtaining a PDF copy of our Premium Paperback. hi there. Iā€™m confused by the ā€œtime to harvestā€ mechanic. Could you go into more detail about how that and farming works? Thank you!

Developer (1 edit)

Sure! Farming is a simple and fun action that involves two steps:

Step 1: Planting the Seeds of Choice

Choose a crop from your inventory and write it down on your Island Estate Sheet. Look up the Crop Oraclopedia to find out the ā€œTime to Harvestā€ for your crop. This is the ā€œMaturity Durationā€ of your seeds, which tells you how many days you have to wait before you can harvest them. You can also use the Custom Seed Action to create your own seeds with different characteristics. Write down the Maturity Duration on your Island Estate Sheet as well. Example: If you plant a crop with a Maturity Duration of 1 day, you can harvest it the next day. If you plant a crop with a Maturity Duration of 3 days, you have to wait for 3 days.

Step 2: Going through the Fate Step

Draw a card from the deck and see what happens to your crop. The card will either increase or decrease your Time to Harvest and the value of your crop. For example, your Fate Step result shorten your Time to Harvest by one day and make your crop more valuable. For example, your Fate Step results in a +1 Day to the ā€œTime to Harvestā€, and maybe even reduced the worth of the crop. You can envision it as: ā€œPest Attackā€ that lengthen your Time to Harvest by one day and make your crop less valuable.

Once youā€™ve planted the crop, you can continue to do other actions until your Time to Harvest reaches zero. Then you can harvest your crop by adding it to your inventory.

I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need any further assistance. Happy farming! šŸŒ±

Hi! Will you be releasing any premade NPCs?
