I'm making a Casual Base Building / Survival Horror game called Haunt!

I think it could be really cool but it needs a community as you'll understand after reading the game's description: https://kevopatra.itch.io/haunt

Currently, the game has the basic logic for placing tiles in your haunt. I've also built in logic for saving and loading haunt data, along with several less notable backend accomplishments.

I've made a community thread on the game's page for content suggestions and I would love to hear what the community would want from this game!

Hey everyone!

I've paused development on Haunt to learn how to make multiplayer games. This is because in Haunt, you will be able to raid haunts with your friends. I don't want the Haunt codebase to be my first multiplayer attempt, so I'm working on a small side project  after which I will resume development of Haunt.

Thanks :)

The experiment is moving along nicely. I'm making a multiplayer shooter following the multiplayer course that the youtuber Code Monkey recently uploaded. It has been very helpful and I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to learn how to make multiplayer games in Unity!

The multiplayer experiment is coming to a close after which I will be resuming development of Haunt. The release date goal remains the same. I'd love to hear some ideas on content for the game!

I've started working on Haunt again! I added prop placement and will probably be working on polishing the base editor for a little while. I'd love to hear any ideas or suggestions for content in the game!

Heya!

I've been hard at work on some back end stuff related to the player weapons system and the base editor. I'm going to start working on the pixel art for Haunt soon. Hopefully this will not redact too much from the experience of the game because I am still something of a novice. I'm excited to have something more colorful to show you guys with the screenshots instead of my black and white prototype art heheh. Here's the color palette that I'm going to use. My friend who actually knows a little bit about pixel art made it so at least the color scheme won't be too bad(I hope.)

As always, I'd love to hear anybody's thoughts on what to add to the game! :)

For the game "grapplin man", There is a few issues. First, sometimes, when i respawn, i cant use the grapplin, it only lets me shoot the gun. Next, the size of the spikes is to big, i will get close but not quite touch the spike and it will kill me. Other then that, its a great game, gg

The prop placement system is working pretty well for at least the more basic props! The other day, I made a little house (still with the prototype art.)

I'm currently working on saving and loading base data which should be finished soon after which I can work on some more features. I'd love to hear anyone's ideas for what to put in the game next! :)

It looks very interesting. Reminds me of King of Thieves.

So you select black and white visual solution. Pretty minimal. And very solid!

I'm glad you like it! Its only temporary though. I want the game to have a cozy-ish look to it, so there will be color eventually. I haven't done any of the color art yet because I'm more of a programmer, and I'm procrastinating lol. I posted the color palette that I'm going to use up above! :)

Ahoy!

My friend is going to do the pixel art for Haunt. This means that the quality will be better, but I won't really have anything to show for a little while. I'm currently working on the raid system. I almost have bases loading in the raid scene, then I can start working on the multiplayer stuff! Release date remains the same so far! :)
