What cloud storage are you using?

Hey itch community. I was wondering what cloud storage service you are using (if any) to backup your game files and assets and also if you are sharing files with team members or others? Is there anything that can be improved with that provider?

I want to create a cloud storage service specifically for "creators". So indie developers, photographers, video editors, influencers, writers etc and want to know about current pains with existing providers that you find limiting or frustrating.

Every feedback is much appreciated :)

"i use usb drive for backup" x2

I don't have a favorite one, each company I worked for had a different one, some use google drive others use one drive.

If you want an interesting one, I had a professor back in university that created this one: https://dontpad.com/

There you can type any link to generate a new space, the downside (which is also funny) is that you can access links that people had already created.

For collaboration, I use OmniSpace. It rocks! Otherwise, I upload stuff directly to my site, a Gitea instance, or a shell account, depending. I also use a thumb drive for on-site backups. Normally it would be a second computer, but right now that's not possible.

That's... what Omnispace is for. Or one of the other services I explicitly mentioned as places to upload files.

If I wanted to collaborate over the internet, I'd find a cheap VPS and load Fossil on that (or Git, if the rest of the team insists).  I could use the same VPS for transferring static files, if I ever had anything too big to fit into my source control system, but that should only happen very rarely.  Or I could use Github like everybody else.

But I don't (want to collaborate over the internet), so it's all moot.  I use USB sticks (set of three, rotated weekly) and other computers on my LAN for backup.

Thanks for all your input. I do already have an MVP of a cloud storage ready and not sure if I'm allowed to post this but I am looking for a few beta testers to try it out, in order for me to get some feedback on what you like and what could be improved. Would anybody be willing to try it out and let me know what you think? Again, if this is not allowed to post the please have this post removed.

As a product aimed at creators, it's explicitly allowed by the rules of this category. Good luck with your new service!
