Pixel or vector? Which one is better?

Hi all,
We are making a puzzelgame. We currently working on a pixelversion, because we liked that more. But i like the sharpness of vector, so decided to try out a more sharper version of this. Which one do you prefer?

I admit, I'm always a bit biased towards pixel art so that's the style I'd pick. Both look good, but, especially in the background, I prefer the pixel art as it allows detail that isn't as rounded. It's always your choice though!

As much as I love pixel art in general, I think I prefer the cleaner and sharper look of the vector art in this particular case.

Overall I'm leaning towards the pixel art but here's my thoughts for both of them.

PIXEL ART VERSION:

+ The buildings look more 3D and the dome itself looks more like it's made of transparent glass.

+ The pixel art also handles gradients better for smoother color transitions.

+ Better-looking stars.

- Not a big fan of the moon-looking background -- looks like a wheel of swiss cheese or even a painter's palette.

VOXEL VERSION:

+ If your game were being made for mobile platforms, this would offer the greatest contrast. One of my biggest pet-peeves with ios games are ones with poor color contrast when you're trying to play on something like a small iPhone SE.

+ The cloudy background is much better.

- The stars now look like "X" cancel buttons like you would see to close out a window.

- The glass domes don't look as transparent.

I think vector art usually looks good with simplistic art designs such as these.

I think it is about up to you, what to choose. I select for myself PIXEL ART. but, i do simple in 8 bit style. You know. Cause i am a programmer, and simple pixel art is goes good to me. It is perfect. So you need to find your own perfect decision, if it is existing, of course. And, if you are more painter, maybe that it is OK, that you try to get skills in different art styles. So maybe for you answer is BOTH! And one is more trained, but another is OK trained!

Thanks all for the great feedback!  We go for the vector-version, because it will be on mobile and the vector sharpness works best on small screens. @44wattstudio Big thanks for the detailed feedback, was really helpful to make the right decision!
