This is a very sweet comment, believe me, it took me a bit to get the right designs for Cherry and Harper, especially in parts like Harper's clothing and Cherry's hair, it's a relief they came out so nice in both my eyes and yours!

It means a lot to get a kind comment from you, thank you! ◝(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)◜

Cuteness is just something all my games seem to HAVE to have at this point, it's very hard for me to make something without it being just a LITTLE cute! XD

Also, thank you for the compliments for the art style and presentation, I quite like making the "look" of my games once I got better at Ren'py and such, so I am quite happy whenever someone likes the appearance!

I hope you'll check my other releases too, but no pressure! :3

I love the cat too!

Aww, thank you, I'm glad you think the duo of Harper and Cherry is cute, I've been wanting to show off at least part of their story for a while so I'm glad you and others already like them! :D

And I'm very much happy you like the art and music, I have not done much music of this type before, but I had a lot of fun, especially in connecting it to the story which I've wanted to try for a while! And clearly these two were very fun to draw, I loved getting to finally get them out of my head into a game!

I cannot say whether the nervousness for these two is warranted or not, just that I have a lot of their plot already thought up, so the mystery and story WILL be done! :3

I'm so happy you liked the art and music in particular, I adore pixel art and I'm super happy there are those who like it like me! It's just the type of art I feel very comfortable in, you know? :D

Honestly, I mostly wrote the parts of the backstory with hints to what happened in general beforehand since the game focuses more on the here and now of the duo's relationship and oddly, that meant it felt strange to show scenes that occurred before they met properly, though I understand the want to see more!

As for why there is a lot more showings of bad situations between the two, since I was writing from how Fritz would think of things, I just think she'd remember worse times easier, for better or for worse! XD

Again though, thank you for for writing out your thoughts, I know it took me several days to reply, but I truly do appreciate the comment!

Just putting my thoughts about this game just to hopefully get more people to check it out! Specifically, I think this game is very sincere, real and genuine, and is very unafraid to show many of Jacob's feelings and relationships that affect him, both good and bad, and past and present. This does make it quite emotional especially with the topics involving grief, but that's never a bad thing!

I very much enjoy the writing due to how natural everything is too! There is just a style to everything I love!

And of course, Jacob and Corey's relationship is very sweet and I think a very well done continuation of their beginning in Crushed!

All in all, super great in so many ways! :D

YAY! Congrats on the release of  Loved, I'll be sure to play! :D

I definitely liked writing the relationship where both characters brought issues or problems without it always being one or the other, so I'm glad you liked that part of the relationship! :D

Selene's love of toxic yuri, and drama in general, was a funny later addition when I was writing the game itself, but I'm glad I just went with it! XD

Awww, this is all so nice!

♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝♡

The dynamic was definitely a bit tough, as relationships like this can be really complicated and tough for everyone involved and I wanted to really demonstrate that while still showing why these two are so connected despite their flaws and problems. Still, I'm touched you love this duo so much despite their flaws, I of course love them a lot too!

The worldbuilding was very fun to me to I'm glad you liked it, in fact, I hope to be able to revisit this world again since it was just so cool to make in my opinion! I love anything magical and cozy myself, but I had to add more danger and depth than usual if I wanted to be able to revisit later! (Making the god/spirit basically a bored lover of drama was a later addition in the idea, and I'm glad I made them that way! XD)

As I often say, I adore making the art and music of any of my games, so I'm just super happy so many people like that part! I'm not sure if it's magic running that part of me, but never say never! :D

I think I was having fun with the duo's dialog in this one! XD I'm glad the music was good, I just love making it!

Thank you, I suppose I just can't make things at least a LITTLE cute even when trying to make the relationship toxic. Happy you enjoyed it! :D

Aw, thanks, girlfailures is very much an accurate description of them both! XD I'm glad you like the art and music, I absolutely adore making both! :D

Happy Anniversary!!! :D You're doing great!

YEAH! :D

Thank you so much, I was going as adorable as I could, so glad you liked it! Seriously, I love cute games, so why not make something super cute myself? :D Also really great that the LGBTQIA+ representation was liked! :3

Thanks! Took me a bit to get right, but it thankfully came all together! :)

Awww, thank you! I put a lot into making sure this came out good for the jam, and I intend to put just as much in making sure the other routes get just as much love and care, so look forward to them! :D

Thank you, I really can't wait to show more of the characters! :D

Bittersweet is definitely a good way to put it! I did base it off of the general feeling of fighting with someone you care about, so being bittersweet was inevitable.

Also sorry for taking so long to reply, every time I went to, something somehow distracted me!

Whoa, thanks for the review! We certainly weren't expecting it, but we thank you very much, hope you like our future stuff too!

Thank you, I'm just so glad it is done and here for people to see!

I have never been great with words, but I very much have to try for this game, as it has meant so much to me in so many ways and I have to find a way to say it. It's beautiful, somehow relates to me, or makes me think about what I would want in ways that I was expecting (me being ace, feeling like I didn't fit in) to ways I just wasn't expecting or maybe didn't even know that I was going to relate to (the potential Orlam and Iggy relationship) and, of course, made me cry after a day or two with my friend who played the game practically alongside me, but with how many emotions I had for this game, that was to be expected!

Honestly, this game inspired me in every way it could, art (especially pixel art which I hope to be just as good in some way at some point!), music choice, writing and the characters (who I all loved the whole way through), enough that I feel I have to buckle down and find a way to make a game that's somehow just as amazing, I even found myself literally listening to the music and such while I work on my own stuff, just to remind myself how much I love it, and feel so inspired all over again!

!SPOILERS!

But that's just my general feelings, I have even more to say specifically! :D

I think I played the finale as soon as I was physically able to, exactly how I played every other Arc when I found this game and refused to put it down. (Or stop telling the people around me in real life everything about it.) And with everyone together and things being more peaceful at the cabin I was already emotional, enough that when things got to Bucks and everything surrounding her with how the group treated her and, honestly I like how it wasn't a "huge" incident or particularly one incident that was bad, it was more of a consistent treatment that wore on her eventually, I was consistently close to tears from the start, and that's not even mentioning the later scenes, where I had to fight tears so badly I got a headache.

Then the tree and Saydie. Those were just amazing scenes in every way, horrifying, but amazing. This is where I mean I have a hard time with words, but I truly loved this scene, in atmosphere and reveals.

The field scene surprised me, but fit in perfectly too!

I had little idea what the final ending for everything was going to be, but the final time loop was a great end to me, one final loop to something better, not perfect, but better!

And that's of course not even mentioning the routes, a big part of all my emotions, I just love every ship with Iggy, enough that one day I basically have one as my favorite before waking up the next day and having another and then other days they are all my favorite, just because I find something so good in each of the dynamics, where I'll just remember a scene and just love that pair all over again.

I feel like I can only just say random things about each pair that I loved so much, like how Iggy and Orlam's relationship isn't one thing and still just as close, or how Genzou and Iggy's scene finally has Iggy actually tell Genzou he loves him or Gidget and Iggy's relationship changing so much for the better in their ending together. Maybe my thoughts are just a little scattered right now, but I can only describe it as I have so much to love with each pair and I have a hard time describing how much I love each, other than just saying random parts I liked with each.

I went in the order of Orlam - Neutral - Gidget - Genzou, mostly as I knew I would like Orlam and Genzou no matter what so they should be my first and last routes and I always leave Gidget as my nice surprise in the middle. Plus tradition honestly, for some reason I did the same thing while playing OFW and OC, I either played Orlam or Genzou first, then Gidget, then whoever was left. My friend and I even discussed which route to play first, we took it seriously!

Just to end this, thank you for making this game, Carrot. I loved it in every way, and I believe it is a story that I will carry with me forever! Take care of yourself and I'll keep an eye out for anything else you do!

Thank you so much, we're already working on the full game right now, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long!

For me I literally always wanted to make games since I've been playing video games since I was extremely little, I just wasn't sure if I could for quite a few years.

Then I ended up learning music and convinced myself I will become a composer for video games. Then I learned pixel art since games need art too, college ended up teaching me Python which is what Ren'py uses and I realized I actually could make video games now! So I now team up with my teammate, who learned different stuff like writing and other types of art, and a few other people to make or help others with visual novels now! Hoping to work with other types of games eventually too.

I could do this pixel art for you if you'd accept my art! This is a top down game I am helping with, and not only can I create in this style I can also create in several different pixel art styles, such as with outlines and other types! For prices for what you want, I'd say each map would be about $50, due to the large size (this would include tiles, walls and items in each map) while the sprites would only be about $20-30 for all the sprites as a group, as they are rather simple (this would include the animations such as different weapons and walking.) I'm not sure what price the stick art would be, as I'm uncertain how many artworks you'd want, we would have to discuss it.

If these are alright prices then please contact me through Discord, I am BibiXP#7580 !

I can also more examples of my pixel art after being contacted!

I have sent an email, it contains examples of my work and such!

This is definitely a different submission than most of the rest, mostly due to the story surrounding the music, all the songs are still really good though! "The Wheel that never stops" was a favorite though!

Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it!

Thank you, I haven't messed with synths too often lately, so glad I didn't lose any ability in them!

Thank you very much!

That's great, shoot em up is exactly what I was going for! :D

Thank you, that specific track was a favorite of mine too!

Thanks, I haven't gotten a big chance to do fun songs in a bit, so I jumped at the chance to make fun songs for this jam!

Very sweet song! I like lo-fi in general, but this one hits the relaxing feeling a bit better than many I've heard, probably from the percussion choices made. So nice job!

I really liked this one, sounds cute all on its own! Plus, as you mentioned, I can definitely hear the inspirations you had for this soundtrack!

Very pretty melodies! I like that the whole thing fits your story well too!

Very fitting to the theme sound wise! The synths also feel very well made and everything fits together perfectly throughout the songs, good job!

Thank you so much! It mostly came together after the first song of the group!

Smaller streamers could give a chance, which is why I recommended them, even if they only have a few hundred watching that is still a few hundred that now know the game.

My game is just a visual novel, so I just need to know if the story is interesting, which I'm pretty sure it is and, due to it have a fair amount of choices, I know it is interactable enough to keep interest in it.

For your game, you'd have to compare it to similar games and see if yours can create the same "fun" feeling that other games feel, basically, just see if the concept both keeps attention and can evolve. Evolving is usually the big important part, if the concept can grow and change to different and new gameplay, then it is often fun, or at least interesting.

You will definitely need more than one tester, as one person's concept of fun can vary, people say strangers give the best advice as friends and family might not want to say anything bad about the game.

We plan to finish development of the game in early 2023, to give ourselves a good amount of time to finish without rushing, especially as both me and my teammate are involved in either other projects, work, or school. Thankfully, most of the sprites we need are finished, so development now is creating backgrounds, CGs, the rest of the writing, and then programming it all in.

Twitch would probably work better if you instead ask some smaller game streamers to play your games instead, they already have followers so you just would have to find some that play similar genres.
