Does a buyer needs to pay double if the file deleted by seller and newly reupload files with the same price tag?

Hi, so I am a seller and I don't know if my buyer will face this issue or not if get into this scenario. My project has 2 files, one is a free version and another is a full version. Because I don't like the full version of the file's name, I decide to delete it and wanted to upload a new full version file with a new name at the same price as before which is $3.5. My project is using the $0 or donates method, so in order to get the full version, a buyer needs to pay a minimum of $3.5 to get it.

The question is for those of my buyers who purchase the previous full version file will they able to download the "new" full version file with the same price that I upload without paying again?

No. People pay for access to the project's files. Once they own it, even if the price changes later or other files are added, the buyer still has access to any file with the default price. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answer, now I feel relieved that knowing my followers do not need to pay double.

Hey there,

Paying/donating to a project is done in a “Tier System”. That means, if a user donates $5 to your project, they will have access to all files with a price tag of $5 or less.

From what I understand you’ve set your project to $0, and the full version as a custom price of $3.5, which is fine if you delete the previous version and upload a new one on the same price.

On top of that, the comment above is also correct, if someone owns a project, they will have permanent access to all files (old or new) that do not have a custom price on them.

My project is using the $0 or donates method, so in order to get the full version, a buyer needs to pay a minimum of $3.5 to get it.

Keep in mind that in this configuration, users finding your project while searching will think your project is available for free, only then to realise when they click on the project that they need to pay $3.5 for the full version.

Is the free version a demo? If so my suggestion would be to put your project at $3.5, and mark the demo version of your project as “This is a demo and can be downloaded for free”. This would correctly show your project as paid, and it will also show up when people are looking for paid games with free demos, which your project seems to fit perfectly!

Thanks a lot for the answer, this really cleared my confusion and concerns. I will try to look into it and decide what’s best for it.
