Spam on one specific game / Spam filter?

Hello,

Recently I have been receiving spam fairly frequently on one of my games. It's always in the same format (something about how it was a good forum/blog post and then a link to some spam website) and the same user posts multiple times. I have reported these spam comments anad then banned these spam users multiple times, but it seems to keep getting through.  This only seems to occur on the one game, so I considered just locking the comment section, but I would still like to leave it open in case anybody that isn't a spam bot wants to leave feedback.

Is there any way to implement a spam filter of some sort to avoid this?

We have spam filters for the community forums, dunno if they extend to game feedback as well. Either way, they have to be updated all the time, and spammers still find their way in. Worse, they tend to latch onto a single target like that and pound it.

Until a better answer comes in, maybe you could disable comments on that game for a few days, then turn them back on?

Thank you, I'll try that.

We do have a spam detector on all comments, but it's possible it hasn't been trained on those types of messages yet so it's not detecting them.

I've changed the way reporting posts from game pages works, they now get sent to our admin queue, instead of only being reported to the page owner. We'll be going through those and cleaning them up as we see them (going through the backlog now so it might take a bit before I get to your page)

Thank you very much. For now I have taken the advice from another reply and closed comments temporarily.

Feel free to enable them again, and use the reporting feature. Spam reports now go directly to us. An upcoming feature will include a comment moderation queue where you can approve the comment before it shows up.

Thank you!
