How to install Android version

How do I install the Android version of games? Download the APK and sideload? I look in Google Play and saw some itch.io apps, but none seemed related to installing/playing games purchased here. Also searched here and reviewed the FAQ, but didn't see any info.

In general, you need to download the “.apk” file from a project, and run it using your android device.

For most devices however, it won’t allow you to install apps from outside the default app store, unless you set the appropriate settings. This is usually done if you go to “Settings” -> “Security” -> “Unknown Sources”. If you tick that, it should allow you to install “.apk” files from the web.

Keep in mind though, that setting is disabled by default on purpose. It’s possible to download and install malicious apps randomly from the web, so check twice before installing something.

I just use a web browser (Firefox, not Chrome which will complain that the apk is not from Google Play) on my android phone to visit the itch.io site and purchase/download the game just as I would with a desktop browser (I don't always use the itch.io app). When the download completes, I tap on the the download in notifications and it will ask me if I want to install it.
