Controller Mapping?

Changed the gamepad icons to Dualshock (which I appreciate as an option, all games should allow this) but the mappings seem to be off.

While I'm in settings, it says pressing square resets settings, but 'O' is what does it. It says 'O' is back. But 'X' is back. The square it says is for resetting is actually confirm. Anyone know how to fix? or any plans to allow us to remap controller mapping?

EDIT: Tried playing anyway and I'm stuck on the throwing balls tutorial. Using RS to aim only allows me to aim in about a 45 degree cone in front of me. Holding L2 flips me so I can hit the one on bottom but there seems to be no button combination that allows me to hit the left or right target, and considering the info just says "use RS to aim", I dont think im supposed to have to be hitting button combinations just to aim in certain directions.

This is hella disappointing.

It sounds like you might have a system setting configured to rotate the controls to match that of a Nintendo controller, on my system the button icons match correctly. Double check that you aren’t using external software or a system config option to remap the controls.

Negative. Its a ps4 controller which has worked plug and play since I got it.

Ok, seem to have fixed it for myself.

Itried uninstalling and uninstalling throught the itch app. Did NOT work, but adding it as a nonsteam game to steam, seems to have worked. If anyone else has this silly issue, try that.

When Steam is running, it overrides your system controller config by default, by launching the game through Steam it will use your in-game controller mapping for Steam Input rather than the desktop controller mapping.

Steam Input settings should be accessible via Steam settings.

steam wasnt running when I was having issues before. regardless, its fixed now

Hi thanatos,

what configuration did you use on steam?

I still can't make my controllers to work (Both Steam Deck physical controller or Xbox ONE controller). I added the game as non steam, launched it on steam as still the same problem.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I'm having a similar issue. I'm trying to use a PowerA Enhanced Wired Controller for Nintendo Switch. The game reads A as X, Y as A and X as Y, despite no other games doing so. Running the game through Steam with Steam Input enabled fixed the button mappings, but didn't fix the aiming issue. I cannot aim to the sides, just up and down, though interestingly, I don't need to press any buttons to turn around, I just move the right stick.

oddly enough, im having a similar issue. my buttons are fine, however I cannot aim up or down, but aiming to the sides works fine.

(also using a powerA nintendo switch wired controller)

edit: fixed after adding it to steam as a non steam game. it really is that easy.

I'm having the same issue, and I'm on Linux. Aiming with the Right stick only allows me to aim within +/- 45 degrees to where Lea is facing.

I have it as a Non-Steam game in my Steam Library, and I still have the Right Stick issue. How do I remap the Right stick to fix this?
