Hi people,

I just seen that bad news, about Bandcamp...

You can find it on their own blog on their site if you don't trust me.

What about itch ?
Here, could be nice to ear music submitions on streaming too, could be amazing to see that on this platform !!!

I'm fighting since around 10 years for indie music and this one is really bad in fact. Woo....

What do you think about ?

Cheers !

The most controversial thing about Epic's purchase of Bandcamp, would be the inclusion of NFT music.
Months ago they also bought Sketchfab. Can you tell me if they also sell NFT models?

Absolutelly !

I'm not sure I master all the functioning of NFTs but it seems quite speculative and not at all acceptable to apply it to itch.io in any case! :)

These purchases are terrifing for me...

I recently saw news that Epic also bought Artstation, Quixel and other companies since 2018.

I think it seems like it is fattening itself on these purchases so that in the end Tencent would buy it completely so that it would be an Activision/Blizzard-like acquisition by Microsoft.

Probably, what a mess...

interesting, i have a few LPs of music i generated using my software i host on ITCH.

as a  side note, Bandcamp embeds LPs really nicely on ITCH if anyone has a use for such a thing. was so excited when it worked :)

can be used on profile page or store page, like here:

I sent a request on itch support mail to ask them if shared music here, could be streamed !

Well we just have to wait, hoping Bandcamp'll have not turover team, changing their own politics for Epic :)

Because your sounds are intergrated as a widget, i suppose to !

If anyone wants to upload somewhere with more storage there is:  https://hearthis.at/

A Soundcloud based plateform ? For me, no thanks x)

For what it's worth, there's now a tool, blamscamp, for creating Bandcamp-like audio players that can be embedded on itch. If anybody wants to pivot to selling music on here, it might be of use :)
