Hello dear Itch users, we have a Free Game that is in development and should be released later this year.

OOP:TOFS is a Retro Fantasy Adventure RPG with all the feel of the Super Nintendo RPG's such as Final Fantasy, 7th Saga, Chrono Trigger, and others, but OOP:TOFS is brought to the modern era of video games with High Quality Graphics, Music, and Content.

I wanted to share progress with the making of the game as it happens with Itch users.

So I have setup a Itch profile for the game and it includes screenshots and a description.

Visit the OOPTOFS Game profile at

Our Oldest Parents: The One Family Story by WLTOP (itch.io)

Some of the special features of the game will include, choosing from 8 different classes for your party of 4.
Time Sage, Warrior, Priest, Mage, Druid, Archer, Rogue, and Paladin.

The game has a custom feature to award exp for actions used in battle which provides exp gain DURING combat instead of at the end, which allows you to level up during combat.

The game is expected to have active, buff, and passive skills.

The story is of 4 youths, siblings, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, who travel the world to popular religious shrines learning more, all while trying to find their Creator to seek help restoring the chaotic world to peace.

We hope you enjoy the sneak peeks and as we add new content to the game we will update those sneak peeks.

Thank you Itch :)

Finished the Class Choosing shop, thanks Brancliff for the help with it.

Here is some screenshot sneak peeks.

Decided that combat looks more efficient with a zoom out battle background instead of a preset image, this is due to many different devices fitting the game in different resolutions which won't stretch a preset battle background properly. fix screenshot attached.

Made some changes to the battle exp gain per damage action formula. Now if you are lower level than the monster, you'll gain more exp per damage, and if higher level than the monster, less exp per damage. fix screenshot attached.

Added more scenery to Playk Town such as flowers, bushes, trees, and a pond in the graveyard area. Still plan to add a few discoverable items such as potions to be found in hidden places like boxes and vases. screenshot attached.

The beginning story to the game is basically done, we have an introduction in the village elders' home, and then the player ventures to Playk Mountain to visit the first shrine. It is an "Oldest Parents" shrine (The 2nd shrine is Hinduism), the characters are met by a priest who claims to be of the group "The Angels of Nothing" who guard the Earths shrines and test the worth of pilgrims who visit the shrines. screenshot of a short amount of the dialogue there attached. After defeating the Angel of Nothing the characters will read the shrines inscription and decide to pray. For situations such as that, where all 4 characters talk together, I custom made a chat portrait with all 4 of them facing each other as a group, it looks really cool, take a peek at the screenshot.

More updates soon, probably later tonight or tomorrow

P.S. the below screenshot that says "What once was one..." is a spoiler, it is the inscription on the first shrine. Its a poem I wrote and a little riddle, enjoy.

The 2nd Town (Bayso Town) and the 2nd Shrine (Hinduism Shrine) are basically done.

Implementing a quest journal system.

Next part of the story is Iklack Town and the Taoism Shrine.

Iklack Town and Iklack Tower (Taoism Shrine) are basically done, upon completing that part of the story, the player can buy a boat to travel to the next area.

The next area is Gobba Town and the Buddhism Shrine.

Gobba Town and the Buddhism Shrine are basically done.

Next is Ayose Town and the Islamic Shrine.

Added more art to the world map, such as forests, it looks great at this moment.

Will update it occasionally. Ayose Town and the Islamic Shrine are basically done.

Next is Nolga Town and the Sikhism Shrine.

5/13 Shrines Done, at the end of mapping, I will have to configure proper music, and balance combat enemies, and class stats, also class skills. Oh items and equipment also.

I am doing a little of that occasionally but by the end, rebalancing it is the proper thing to do.

Was browsing Yanflys free plugins for RPG Maker MV (still planning to buy his paid ones next month), and he has a name box plugin.

Now the actors will display the names you choose at the beginning, during dialogue, screenshots attached.

Looking more at the free plugins Yanfly provides I found Battle Engine Core.

It let me move the heroes more to the right of the battle screen so now they are not so near the enemy, clearing clutter. Screenshot attached. (Notice the improved world map?)

Another Yanfly plugin improves the game, "Save Core".

Now the save/load window looks visually more pleasant and as a bonus, it displays game title, map location of save, current money, amount of times saved, and playtime.

Screenshot attached.

I am finding a lot of free plugins from Yanfly that I can use, maybe will find more soon, here is the "Item Core" plugin.

It adds a effect window displaying the item and equips changes when used.

(Note: it would also list a description, when I add it).

Nolga Town and The Sikhism Shrine are basically done, (Screenshots Attached).

Next is Weyto Town and the Jainism Shrine.

A Happy Valentines Day Update Weyto Town and The Jainism Shrine are basically done.

Been waiting for help with HimeWorks exp popup plugin, been near a week on forum, no help.

I decided to move on.

Using some new battle interface, now heroes have portraits and actions have icons.

Planning to later visually align monsters.

Well, after a week of no luck, no luck just turned into luck.

OOP:TOFS can now have a exp popup during battle.

The plugin problem has been fixed thanks to a nice guy on the forums.

Look at attached screenshot to see it in use.

Doena Town and the Zoroastrianism Shrine done.

Next will be Tehpare Town and the Canaanism Shrine.
