I'm experiencing the same issues as this user reported: https://itch.io/t/686069/why-ive-been-banned-from-any-jam.
At first, I was concerned that perhaps itch.io was hacked, so I changed my password. Upon further investigation, I learned that ALL of my Games have been removed from Jams, and I am no longer capable of submitting to future Jams.
My publications are often collaborative efforts between myself and a wide slew of Developers. I run a Team comprised of over a dozen Artists, Programmers, Playtesters, and Consultants. We've grown exponentially over the past year, and, while we have ambitions to eventually monetize, 100 per cent of our publications have been free-to-play, with very minimal additional downloadable content for fans. Every submission that I have made on behalf of these works has observed the explicit criteria stipulated by the Jam Organizers. Many of these Jams had no restrictions against resubmitting Works in Progress. I can supply you with written and otherwise recorded evidence that feedback for these submissions has been almost universally positive, as has been much of my own feedback to my fellow participants, many of whom have become friends of mine.
I sincerely hope that whatever bug has afflicted my itch.io account shall be resolved soon. itch.io has become a major part of my life over the past two years, and while I have been suspicious of some of its shadier administrative practices I want genuinely to see the best in people. I have made my Mission Statements clear on my page, and many of my publications were labelled as "Educational". Even my Discord Server is a not-for-profit organization aimed at promoting Discussion, Education, and Sharing of Content and Resources. I seldom self-promote, but given the ambition and scope of my projects I have made numerous updates and taken every opportunity I have to showcase the hours upon days of work that my Teams have poured into these ventures. Having received no official warnings from the itch.io staff or the Jam Organizers, I cannot find it in my heart to believe that our enterprise was "canceled" over some drama of which I was not made aware. At the very least, I can say that we've all learned from promotional mistakes which we may have made months ago, and I must hope earnestly that the Administrators have also learned from past mistakes, especially if they hope to grow as a serious platform in this burgeoning market wherein many of us Creators struggle daily to further our Art Form in a spirit of respectful openness and sincerity. Keep it Real. Misunderstandings happen.
Sincerely and Faithfully,
Rinzai Gigen, on behalf of
Subliminal Mind Games.
