Hi!
I'm a software engineer for my day job (I've worked for several startups and two very well known companies writing Typescript/Node, various frontend frameworks, Python, C#/.Net, Go, a little Java, and PHP). I'm always doing personal projects for fun (procedural music generation, Twitter bots, etc) and I've wanted to add game development as a creative outlet for a while.
I'm having a pretty good time with Unity (already being familiar with C#), but I'm hitting a wall when it comes to doing sprites/modeling/animation. I'm just not visually inclined that way! I'm looking for someone who is more visually inclined who would let me do the coding on a project. I'm not looking for a whole lot of creative control, just a project where I can apply my coding skills to help someones game idea come to life. I'm new to this, so I'm not looking to be paid. I think some good fits, project wise might be:
a. a prototype or proof of concept for a game idea
b. a game jam
c. a small, experimental/artsy game
c. someone else who is experienced/capable in modeling/animation/illustration but learning about game dev who would like a collaborator so that they can focus on what they know
Let me know if you have room or a need for a programmer! Thank you!
